Dharmendra Singh Deol popularly known as Dharmendra is an Indian film actor, politician and producer who is called with nicknames "Action King", "He-man" because of his roles being angry young man type in most of his movies.

His famous movies include Sholay, Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Phool Aur Pathar, Seeta Aur Geeta.

He has received Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997 besides receiving Filmfare Best Movie award for movie Ghayal in which his son Sunny Deol was the hero.

He is a recipient of India's third highest civilian award Padma Bhushan.

He has also received Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest award for contribution to film and music.
