What's Holding You Back From Starting Your Own Business

Obviously you want to be your own boss, and own your own business, and make your own money. That is why you are reading this blog. I have given you many reasons why you should continue in your endeavor to be a true entrepreneur and not a “wanna-be”. A “wanna-be” just reads this with good intentions; the end. A real entrepreneur not only reads this article, but reads books on home business ideas, reads it seriously, and applies the concepts to his/her business dreams and transforms them into reality.

Some people like to over-analyze and may think, “Well that’s too easy. You can’t make money when it’s so simple.” Remarks like these come from those who have grown up outside the business world and they were taught from a young age, that you have to labor hard to make a so-called “living”. Many of us were taught this and had parents that struggled all their lives. You have to reorganize your thinking. This theory hard work = money, has not always worked. That’s why many people seek entrepreneurship. They are seeking a self-fulfilling business that will make their life easier and better. Many of you now reading this, have experienced the day in, day out, hard labor routine and know you barely make ends meet. It’s really never enough money for all the hard work you do. Who is it that gets to decide that you’re worth 10, 15, 20 dollars an hour? Your time and effort is much more valuable than that. This is why you desire to try to find something better. You also know that when you work for someone, they are making all the money and you must settle for a small amount of money, and that’s where you stay. Me, myself? I prefer to live for a living. It’s like they say, “It’s a dead-end job.”

It is very disconcerting to witness the diminishment of the small business sector, when I see many people I met and knew as friends turn a deaf ear to the minute mention of the word business. It's as if one had a disease! They freely talked about their government jobs, their nine-to-five jobs, but never once ask, “Well, how’s your business going? What are you doing? These people are afraid to bring up the subject of business, as if they're going to catch the “bug of entrepreneurism”.

Many people are afraid to start a business because they are scared something will go wrong. We are always learning and in order to learn we make mistakes. Mistakes teach us the right way. If there were no wrong, there would be no right. Think about that. By reading and learning as much as possible about the potential opportunity you seek, you will greatly limit potential mistakes. This also ties into thinking positively. Even about making mistakes.

It’s taken me years of trial and error through my business experiences. I’ve used up a lot of my earned income in seminars and sign up fees for the constant blind experimenting on various business ideas and ventures.
