Poetry Dice Challenge 3000: My first Entry; Outside its cristmas
This is my very first entry to the PDC3000 competition hosted by @robyneggs and @rensoul17
Outside its Christmas
It's the most wonderful time of year; I look out my window
where buildings and christmas trees stand tall
And I can still remember clearly
The time I was still small
When David-stars looked like compasses
That pointed to whats right
and I couldn't wait to open presents
on that starry Christmas night
Lights were shining brightly
and carols filled my head
line for line and verse for verse
from hymnbooks that I read.
Festive cheer tipped the scales
from bad to utter good
with its painted tales of red and white
decorated over Christmas tree wood
I never saw a sad face
while sitting by the tree
as we all tried to figure out
'which gift was meant for me'
Holiday season, like a magnet;
attract joy and hope and cheer
But time moves like a turtle
When you wait for Santa this time each year
