RE: OlaivART Theme I ― WOMAN (4 Winners, 4 SBD each!)

in #olaivartwoman6 years ago

You're doing good my friend, I just looked through your blog... I don't know if you understand the value of the different currencies yet and how they work, but if you want my help explaining it just let me know...

I think you're going to be a very successful person here. Keep it up!

Hi, @davemccoy! What do you mean by diff currencies and how they work? :) Is it perhaps connected to the reward of my contest?

Thanks a lot! Appreciate this!

No, it is how the values of what you earn add up and how to decide which you want to keep.

Basically you get paid in STEEM POWER and in SBD... each of those has a value and trade in $US... Currently STEEM (which is the what you get when you cash out of STEEM POWER) is going for about $3 per STEEM... And your SBDs (what you are offering in your contest is going for about $8 a piece. So by offering 4 SBDs you are giving away a very big prize to the lucky winners of this contest... They will be getting a currency that is worth about $8 or 4000 PHP ... So a very good reward.

The reason why I tell you this is lots of people don't understand it. And don't know what to do with the differenet currencies.

To make this decision, you have to decide what your goals are short term, long term, and also what your objectives are here in steemit. Once I know what you want to do, I can help you decide a strategy to make the maximum use of the currencies you earn.

For instance, you might want to increase your STEEM POWER so that your "upvotes" mean more and more so that you can get paid more for your upvotes and so that you can also reward the people that follow you or that you want to help along. If you have more STEEM POWER you get more influence.

But if you go to all to STEEM POWER, you will not have access immediately to the money... The reason you get the power is because they know you are going to be here for the longer term... Now you can take your money out (by going from STEEM POWER back into STEEM and then selling that STEEM), but you can only get 1/13th of it every week... That's no problem if you plan to get really big, but if you need to spend the money yourself then you wouldn't go all into STEEM POWER.

I know all this is confusing, but to make it more simple for you, just tell me what you plan to do with the money you are making here. Do you plan to re-invest it or do you want to take it out?

Once you tell me that, I can help you to understand what works best for you.

The bottom line is your account is worth far more than you thought it was, you are doing really really well and I think you are going to be a star on this place. But you should also maximize every piece of this platform to meet you own needs and goals. And I am happy to help you if you wish.

Hi sir im justs scrolling here and i see your reply . for you sir which is better to have more steem power or steem only?

it all depends on what your plans are. If you plan to keep your money here for at least a few months, then always turn it into STEEM POWER (that will give you more money as you use your upvote power). STEEM POWER is the way they decide how big you are and the theory behind it is they want to give the people that plan on being connected to the system for the longer term get the votes. So always power up your steem if you plan on not taking that money out of your account for at least 3 months. (I always power up as soon as I get it)

On the other hand, if you plan to take money out and sell your STEEM on the markets, then you can only sell it by it being in STEEM. Now if all of your money is in STEEM POWER (which mine is), then you can always "power down" if you want to take it out. What this will do is take your STEEM POWER and transfer it back to STEEM at the rate of 1/13th of your request each week for 13 weeks.

So to make it simple and easier, STEEM POWER is the same STEEM, but its just locked up so that you can only withdraw it at a rate of 1/13th a week over 13 weeks. So if you won't be taking your money out for awhile ALWAYS power up and increase your votes (it will earn you much more money and give you more influence with the community)

Did this help? And if you have any more questions, feel free to ask... I'm happy to help if I can.

Very interestingI was thinking that it will take 12 month to get money from steem power and transfer it back to steem. I am planing to stay here long :)

Then you should convert to STEEM POWER... it is only a 13 week process to power down and even then its 1/13th per week so you don't even have to wait a whole year.

I use the "currency market" they have here (in the menu bar on the upper right)... Just click on that and you put in the price you want to exchange at (it fluctuates between .35 and .40) and just put the total of your SBD (which it will tell you right under the box to input it)... then it will tell you how much STEEM you will buy with your SBD. Once your transaction fills, it will automatically add to your STEEM balance. Then just "power up" and put the amount of steem you have into steem power.

Sounds complicated, but its really not hard. I just checked and you will get around 75 STEEM, which when powered up will definitely improve your punch. If you want to do this, just let me know and I will check your account to make sure you did it right.

Or if you have any more questions, just let me know... Happy to help you...

Btw, fyi your account is worth almost $300 US dollars (I didn't know if you knew that)... You're doing real well and will keep growing fast if you keep it up.

From what I found 75 of Steem Power will give me 0.02 value for my vote. Is it correct?

I'm not sure of the exact break points, but I know at 28 we got .01 sometimes... So I would say its probably greater than .02 and less than .03 (they figure it exact...

Looks like a lot of people converting Steem Dollars to Steem Power "Steem delegation purchases disabled until current pre-orders are filled."

I don't know that route... What I do is to go to the currency market from the (menu tab) and sell my SP for STEEM... (they are currently thinly traded but I'd put my order in at .38 or less)... and then you just put the amount of SBD and it will tell you how much STEEM that will get you... You can test it and just don't hit the order button.. The reason I like that is that it is a "market" with buyers and seller and you can place prices that you feel are good.

Then once you get the STEEM, just "power up" and that will give you STEEM POWER. Its less than a second to do that and no restrictions.

I know there is another way that is different, I prefer to do it directly in the market as I showed so that I'm sure I'm getting a fair swap.

If you want me to look at anything or give you a photo explanation let me know. I'm going to be coming out with that next week anyways, so its no problem for me to show you in pictures.

Hope this helps... And given the fact that they reward you for being long term and getting increased voting strength, I'm all in on getting as much as possible into STEEM POWER.

ps... Not to throw too many things at you, but I'm currently also testing @bumper and that is also a way that you can "invest" your SBD into getting more velocity. You can see some of their programs they are running, and like I said I'm testing it myself, but if it works like I think it will, then they would be the best use of SBD at this time. If you would like to check on it, just go to their blog and you can read about it.. Also if you want to find out how my tests are going with them, I'm in Day 2 and I'll have a very good idea in a week.

Sorry for the long reply, but this is the topic that requires the most words to explain. :)

Let me know if I can help you in any way my fellow 2017 classmate :)

And I almost forgot, we are 2017 classmates! Its nice to meet you @jonnahmatias1016 :) Here is our class logo as a gift to you, happy graduation!!!

Nice to meet you too sir. Hope you can visit my posts. Cheers for 2018 classmates..

I will and I will keep in touch and you stay in touch too, always here to work along side you :)

Yeah I will @davemccoy please support my posts too. Likewise. You educate me some of the things that I dont know. Thank you

I am connected to you so no worries... But just so you know, it is best to not ask anyone to follow you or upvote on your posts. By doing so, it makes it look like you are desperate and not confident in your own content. I'm telling this to help you because asking actually makes people NOT vote for you when they normally would. And sometimes the big whales out there will "mute" you which means they will never give you a big vote. So asking for votes or follows just hurts you.

I have seen your stuff and can see your progress, you don't need to do that at all. You are still learning, but I can see that you have a good mind and work at it. That will come through and eventually pay off big for you.

I hope you take my suggestion as it is meant, it is trying to help you to succeed. I would like to see you do well and frankly I'm happy we connected and think we will work together on many things next year.

I hope this helps... and happy new year again! :)

and did my explanation on STEEM and STEEM POWER HELP? And do you understand what your "steem dollars" are? They are actually the ones that are highest in value (worth around US$8 or 400 PHP a piece)... And the same applies to them, if you plan on staying around awhile you can also really get big if you turn them into STEEM POWER. Its really not hard to do, so let me know if you need my help on that.

@davemccoy Thanks a lot for helping them understand the currencies of steemit! I actually understand them now, so I let them talk to you instead. Such great help! :)

haha. that's fine, I like it ;)

... And thank you for noticing and letting me know that you appreciated me helping them. That's a nice thing to do too :)

You have quite the page here with so many beautiful pictures, I was a little worried about how much our thread was taking up. I thought you'd stop me if you were bothered by it, but since you didn't I try to reply to every comment. :)

Thanks again @olaivart and glad we got connected here!

I applaud your efforts @davemccoy on helping to explain how Steem, Steem Power, and SBD’s work.
When I first joined I saw the potential this platform had and hopefully that potential will continue, if all the whales, downvoters, schemers, etc... don’t mess it up.
Following.
