... It was one of those cloudy days in August, He had practiced his proposal lines all night and had a perfect plan on how he would go about it. She was a secretary in a Law firm and usually returned home about 4:45pm. By 4pm, he was there already and had written a love letter, in chalk, on the sidewalk by her house and waited for her by the garden beside while reciting those lines and summing all the courage he could from Cupid-god.
Then she arrived, accompanied by Dan both giggling and stumbling each time on themselves as they walked through to the main entrance. He had no issues cos she had earlier said Dan was just someone in her past, a forgotten figure.
So he stalled for seconds,waiting for his demise and then consequently approach. The seconds grew, the demise never came, lips locked on, then there was a quick pull into the building,there were cloth flings as though bats flying at night. Thunder struck with Lightening. The rain had washed away the chalk by the side way and dripped drops to his eyes.
The ring fell, bouquet dropped, bent knees, soaked suit, heart shattered, Tearing. Too much for a day... 'Am done Cupid, never again' .
