The System vs Self-Reliance & Self-Sufficiency

in #offgrid6 years ago (edited)

You either rely on the system to survive, or you don't. 99% of people on the planet rely 100% on the system for pretty much everything. 99% of people on the planet will be totally f$cked if they didn't receive a paycheck for 2 or 3 months.
Babies rely on their parents for pretty much everything. Without someone to look after you when you're a baby, you will most likely die.
Most/all animals, except for humans, are completely self-reliant & self-sufficient once they reach adulthood. But (most) humans seem to merely shift their total reliance from their parents to the system. The system consists of many things, including the state/government, authorities, etc etc. The list is quite long.
So, most humans, are never really self-reliant & self-sufficient. First they depend completely on their parents, then they depend completely on the system(state, government, etc).
It's understandable when you're a baby, or a child, but once you're an adult, what excuse do you have to put your entire life in the hands of the state, the government, the so called authorities? If you're HAPPY to do that, knowing that it's a bad strategy, then by all means go ahead, continue doing it.
But if/WHEN the system crashes, your life will crash too, because you don't know how to survive without the system looking after you.
That's not a very clever strategy is it?
The problem is, and therefore most people can be forgiven for their ignorance, that most people are conditioned(aka taught) from a young age TO DEPEND on the system for everything, and to NOT be self-reliant and self-sufficient. And to believe that this system is as normal and natural as the Universe, or as natural as mother nature. Which of course, is not true.

I would advise anyone to start realising how fragile their comfort zone is if they depend completely on the system for their income, and everything else...
When the next global recession hits, which will definitely be much worse than 2008, there will be no where to run. If you have only one source of income, start looking for a second, and third, and fourth, etc. Or freelancing, or your own business...entrepreneurship.
Alternatively, you can start creating your off-grid home base.
