People keep asking about my off-grid living & lifestyle. (It's mentioned in my @SirCork bio) so here is some stuff about that.

Hey Again, Steemitizens!

People keep commenting on my "off-grid" home that is mentioned in my site profile here on steemit.com.

I honestly used to document a lot, but "got over it" some time back and made less video and have taken less photos recently than I used to do all the time.

I'll start dredging up the old stuff and catch up to now over time, then produce new materials going forward. There appears to be an interested audience here in off-grid'ing, sustainable living, livestock, farming, and all that survival, prepper stuff around here.

Whew. I'll try to find the time but I also own a software company and try contribute here as much as I can as well.

My beloved, but recently dearly departed Lil'Cat investigates Lol'Gnome, in my soon to be planted vegetable patch.

Here are some conveniently shareable old photos, and videos from the last year or so on my land, and one from the very first weekend I got the place 4 years ago as well. (the one about cutting the trail).

None of these do the beauty of the place, or show the highest view on the land but they will get you started. Consider them a sneak peek of a smorgasbord of Blue Ridge mountain goodness to come, in the hours and days and years ahead!

Wild turkeys patrol my perimeter and lead me up my driveway in my good ole' Chevy 4x4

I had some goats and chickens for a while. I do not have them this season though.

A couple years ago, the first couple weeks in the empty cabin shell temporary style, but full time living.

This is my cabin more like now, as this was only taken just last spring!

And another from the summer of 2016

And... winter 2015

This last video for now, is a tiny little documentary, accompanied by my own background music soundtrack, which I composed and arranged and produced myself. I this film about my cutting of a steep, rugged trail up to a big old tall Hemlock Tree in a corner of my 17 acres on a mountain side, solo, with nothing but a machete and time, on the very first full Saturday I spent on the land on the weekend after I signed the land deal with the seller. Stay to the end for pics of the injury I got on my face, tooo close to my eye for comfort, when a limb spring whipped my face.

Random pix from around the place at various times:

There will be plenty more of this to come. I've got a of "back-catalog" of this stuff to share, and a lot of future stuff to do and document here! Stay tuned!

And with that, this post is over!

Full Steem Ahead, Steemitizens!

There is certainly a link to be made between crypto (and the institutional freedom that's possible) and the off-grid lifestyle. I wonder if that's why it's a growing topic around here.

PS: love the pics of your pets! (I volunteer for an animal rescue here.)

That link is called "anarcho-capitalism" :D Look it up, you'll find what you're looking for. ;)

Thanks! Always learning over here.

I'm looking forward to more of your off-grid lifestyle posts. Maybe I can start making some small changes around here!

It all starts with a tomato plant in a pot on the porch. Them tomatoes are a slippery slope.

Haha! The gateway plant.

(I do have a few varieties growing.)

It's too late for you then. There is no turning back.

neat... great to see how you live.. looking forward to future posts

They will all be wildly and vastly mostly almost true! Pretty much guaranteed, more or less! Your mileage may vary!

Always wonderful to find more like minded people here so of course, I am following and looking forward to more great posts like this :D

Here @raincountry, something special from my place, just for your unique user name here.

It's faint at first, but it get's very tonal and musical as it goes on. Listen closely! :D

Yep! Sounds like here! We get an average of 120" of rain per year, thus the name :D

We get it enough to ruin my 1/2 mile dirt private entrance road a dozen times a year to the point of needing a tractor. Sigh.

Love the sound of rain! We just don't get enough around here.

Beautiful place you have there! I am so sorry about your furbaby's passing!

Love all of the pics, but especially of your furbabies.

P.S. That snake was HUGE!

Thanks. That snake wasn't so bad. About as long as my driveway is wide. maybe 6 feet long? But he's a corn snake. We like them. They eat pests.

Oh! Good to know! We have brown snakes (bull snakes) here like that. They do the same...keeping rhodent populations down.

Living my dream. Hopefully we will be starting soon.

Starting happens when you start. Hoping is not going to move your feet though. :)

I just woke up one day and sold my stuff and bought an RV and headed out. It was never going to happen if I sat around, safe and comfy and just hoped it would.

Not to be too stern, but I get tired of the phrase "hoping for someday" when tomorrow is in 12 hours and you are in control of your life.

Good luck!
