AN OFFGRID NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE
It has been a while since my last JOULESTEEM circuit post, here’s hoping and praying for everyone’s happiness, love and hardwork for the year 2018!!!
There has been lots of work the past months for the JOULESTEEM circuit, and I have to admit that I find it much more beneficial to everyone here if I will lay down directly what has happened in my experiments as I feel this will lessen all sorts of complexities in building such useful circuitry for offgrid purposes, be it lighting, heating, or anything in between.
I have also observed that in just a few months the much dreaded GLOBAL COOLING as per our Sun’s cycles have manifested already all over the world, snows and storms are both a nasty combination that many homeless people may find life threatening.
It is with a sense of urgency and goodwill that I teach these approaches to offgrid electricity, may this reach the very population that needs this most.
THE JOULESTEEM CHARGER EXPERIMENTS
Low Voltage High Advantage The Original Joulethief Way
As per subtitle the JOULESTEEM circuit is a very versatile arrangement in which a charger can be obtained if arranged in a manner as per the illustration below:
As we can observe, I have described the drawing as “Very Low Voltage Charger”. So why would we even bother a very low voltage (3 volts in this presentation)? We can have these benefits if working on low voltages:
- Components stay cold (of course as voltage pressure is lesser)
- The batteries I used (the Bedini-style ALUM batteries) likes to operate at low voltages
- Low voltage but high outputs will clearly and easily demonstrate best circuit performance
- Low voltage battery sources can be easily topped up (or recharged) as compared to higher voltages
- “Dead batteries” can be used as the source of power if one just needs 3 volts to begin with; I believe many situations worldwide can use this fact to their advantage
If from a small mustard seed a very big tree can be obtained, surely it will give the planter a much happier effort come harvest time.
THE NEW APPROACH TO THIS JOULESTEEM MENTORING
As explained earlier, it will be much more beneficial if I will directly describe whatever results and observations during my own experimentations, this will make everything much more faster. STEEM as a blogging platform also is best for such an approach as one just lays down whatever experiences as performed and observed personally. Rest assured whatever I say here are true and correct up to the last drop of honesty and intelligence our Creator has bestowed on my person.
I can only suggest that if you are a technical person reading this, then replicate and make your own version, after which you can also tell others and even correct me for my mistakes (as I am no perfect).
For the non-technicals, just call any neighbor, friends or acquaintances to tell them about these approaches. Let them build the circuit for you and in so doing create a community of willing and able helping hands.
Offgrid living, I believe, will be a community full of people helping each other.
THE RESULTS AND OBSERVATIONS
Here is the direct from the experimenter results and observations if I can add any that I find useful:
The “source battery” at 3 volts displayed the most stable operation at this voltage; it is worth noting that this said battery started operating from 9 volts. At higher voltages, the transistor is “very hot” to the touch while at 3 volts the transistor is just warm; this means that with this circuit approach the optimal voltage will be a “low voltage” (3 volts)
The “charge battery” at 12 volts is charged well, smaller capacity batteries (7Ah) is found to be best at this arrangement, in fact, I can deduce that even if I will arrange 2x 12 volt small capacity batteries in series this circuit as arranged can still charge both “optimally”
The operating frequency of such an arrangement is high at about 2 Khz to 3 Khz when at optimal voltage source (3 volts) operation. The frequency at the higher voltages are very low at 75 Hz to 200 plus Hz, suggesting a very poor performance at higher voltages (above 6 volts)
The antenna as arranged (a horizontally hanging coaxial cable about 15 meters long) is observed to aid in the oscillations of the circuit, most probably powering up the base of the transistor in every cycle
The ground connection if arranged in such a way to pass by a capacitor will gather about 9 volts; this means that the circuit have introduced a “static” difference of voltage from the antenna with respect to the ground. This is an important observation as one can arrange lots of circuits such as this and use the collected voltages for another useful purpose. I can also deduce that the voltages as collected will also increase when the source voltage increases
The loopback to the source arrangement is effective in charging back the source battery. This is evident in the fact that if it is removed, the source voltage will drop to about 1.5 volts and if it is deployed as arranged the source voltage will go up and stay at 3 volts
The JOULESTEEM circuit as arranged to become a charger still has much room for improvements and will be explored further, keeping in mind that the path from the antenna to the ground is collecting voltages as long as the circuit is running
I have to reiterate my intention here that if the source battery will reach a point of not “discharging” anymore, then we just solved for ourselves the biggest riddle of the electric universe, and that is to find a way to “gather” some useful energy by creating a sort of vibrating (oscillating) medium as performed by this variance of the JOULESTEEM circuit.
How beautiful the falls of the Earth are for everyone to enjoy; has anyone asked himself "how come" they never ran out of water? I for one am convinced that the falls just exhibit the same properties as electricity, it is for us to find out how.
