Sometimes, do you know you can accomplish a lot by doing nothing. When you retreat from a tensed moment or in a middle of a battle with a strong aggressor, is a sign not of weakness but of strength.

Instead, fighting a losing battle that is obvious. You can refute the temptation to fight or respond to an aggressor, thus, creating for yourself a valuable time - “time to recover from the blow thrown at you, to meditate & think, and to gain perspective of the battle.”

NB: It should be noted that this content and every other related content on this subject is not aimed to stir up any individual, association or communities to rebel. But just a logical reasoning for building the subconscious minds.

When you refuse to fight, you infuriate your aggressor the more and feed their guts and arrogance. “This is trading space for time, and time is the most valuable”. Let your enemies advance, time is a factor and it is important than space. It will reveal you to be wise and your opponent the rash and predictable type.
Maybe you haven't noticed this, the problem you face in strategy, and in life, is that you're unique and gifted with a specialty and you have a unique personality. Even your circumstances and challenges are also unique, no situation will ever repeat itself. But often you barely understand what makes you different i.e you don't seem to understand your uniqueness and what makes the difference between you and another person.
Meanwhile, your task as a strategist is simple: see yourself differently, see things differently, understand your uniqueness, get more perspective on events and situations, and know things for what they are. In bustling and humping of daily living, it is rare to see people cultivate these habits, the power to achieve and accomplish these tasks comes only when you can decipher when and how to retreat.
If you respond most all the time to people's emotionally and physically, you will have no time to gain perspective and understanding of the situation of things.

Advocacy Scheme - ADJOURNMENT

In the court of Law, the counsels are privy and privileged to engage this principle. That is, adjournment.
Often times, in a criminal or civil proceedings before a court. The counsel can bait, lure the opponent with an adjournment in order to gain perspective, evidence, and proof on a deciding case which is a resemblance of the principle - trading off space for time
When a case is being moved, it will help the counsel prepare and tightened his belt and weak plans, thereby constrain the opponent to seek for defeat or accept fate.

Your enemies are so desperate to see you retaliate or react, retreat infuriates and provokes them into further attacks which are miscalculated or misfired resulting into a blow on them. Time is just as important as space in strategic planning. Knowing how to manage time will make you a superior strategist, adding a whole new dimension to your attacks and defense.

In a desert, obviously nothing exist but just a dry sand and empty space. Retreat to the desert occasionally, to meditate, think and see perspective with utmost clarity.
It is better to retreat and manage the time your flight buys to turn inwardly. That is, a wise decision to make. It is a strategic wisdom at play.
