Homemade Low Fat Fruit Ice Cream Recipe: (3 Main Ingredients Only & No Ice Cream Machine Needed)

Do you love cheesecake ice cream with your favorite fruits? Today, I am going to share my own homemade fruit cheesecake ice cream recipe using the available fruits in my kitchen.

In just 20 minutes of preparation, with only 3 main ingredients and no ice cream machine needed, you can have a creamy and low fat fruit cheesecake ice cream!


Ice Cream Base & Ingredients

The three main ingredients for this fruit ice cream recipe are frozen greek or natural yogurt, cream cheese and honey. It is low fat because there is no condense milk, sugar or whipping cream added. Instead, we are going to use natural source of sweets from the fruits and honey.

The fourth ingredient is the fruit that you would like to add. I'm going to use the fruits that I frozen for 2 hours. Cherries for cherry cheesecake, orange for orange coconut cheesecake and melon for melon cheesecake ice cream.

The thickness of frozen yogurt and frozen fruits is the key for this smooth and creamy ice cream.

Ice Cream Base Mixture Ingredients
I'm going to make the base mixture using the following ingredients and divide it after into three because I'm going to make three ice cream flavors.

  • 450g plain yogurt (greek or natural yogurt)
  • 250g cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla (optional)

Tools
Now, how are we going to make an ice cream without the ice cream machine? Easy! You can use a blender or hand mixer, a freezable container, measuring cup and spatula .

So let's get started!



Cherry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Ingredients
You can also use the following measurements of the ingredients if you decide to just make one flavor fruit cheesecake.

  • 150g yogurt (frozen)
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 12 pcs cherries (unseed and frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Procedure

  • Combine the cream cheese and frozen yogurt together in a mixing bowl and process using the hand mixer for 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.

  • Mixed cherries and honey. Process for about 1 minute until completely mixed.

  • Mix all together. Transfer the mixture to a freezable container and freeze for 4 hours but preferably overnight.IMG_2755.JPG

This looks very tasty! I got an ice cream maker many years ago and I think I have only used it once. The recipe for traditional ice cream is just so bad for you. Perhaps I need to start looking into more of the fruit based ones to get something a bit healthier!

Oh I would love me a yoghurt. This is really nice. I just don't have electric power to do all the freezing involved but it looks tasty and worth a try.

I never have luck with using ice cream makers, so now that I don't have one in the house (broke my last one!), I love the ice cream recipes that don't require one! :-)
