The thing is, though, that the quality of the article doesn't matter... Take this article as an example! It's not good at all, but still got 1760 votes. Why? Because he bid-botted it!
So it's not about who is the best writer, but about who is the best bidbot-user.
Clearly a bad article even with a lot of votes will be discarded from the competition. The highest quality article will win, even if it has the less votes.
