Nice drawing! Was this the 'boy band' final fantasy? I have tried a few times to get into ff, but I just can't click with it. The visuals a stunning and gorgeous, but the gameplay just doesn't resonate with me...
No, the boy band is Final Fantasy XV, the last one in the series. It's too bad that it doesn't resonate with you, because I really like that they made the game like an open sand box full of explorations and monster hunting and fishing. It's like enjoying the world in a long road trip with your best bros <3.
This one is Final Fantasy XII, the game is also quite open like FF15 but it has more coherent story and character development.
A bit of all of that. The battle system, once you understand how it works, becomes a game that plays itself. Once you learn a good gambit set up, the game will always act faster being automated then direct input, so you end up being very uninvolved in the actual gameplay.
There are a some good aspects of the story, but it suffers heavily because of it's focus on Vaan, who has pretty much nothing to do with the actual story being told. Captain Basch and Ashe are clearly the focus of the story, so them not being the lead characters is a bit of a weird choice. I could go on but then this comment would basically become a full review. :p
Overall I actually do kind of like the game because I do love Ashe, Balthier, and Basch, but it's not something I have any desire at all to touch again.
Ahhh I totally understand that though. And maybe because the game is set up that way, that's why it works for me. I was introduced to FF by my friend because whenever I came to their place, they often played the game and sometimes they got stuck. So then I configured the gambit and let them continue playing. That's why I'm not familiar with the story because I just saw bits and pieces of it xD.
It is unfortunate that FF stories become more and more derpy. Especially with FF13 and 15... thankfully I like the gameplay still :D.
And it is doubly sad that they don't announce the next FF in line since I'm not enthused about the FF7 remake.
FF XV is the first main series Final Fantasy game I just didn't get. I played the Demo at E3 (there is a silly story around that, but I'll save that for another day) and just wasn't feeling it.
IX I actaully felt was the last great FF game, though I'm not a big fan of MMO's so despite XI and XIV being good games, not really my cup of tea.
And I'm not the biggest fan of VII, though I do enjoy it. Not sure how long it's going to be for the remake though, apparently a bunch of stuff has been going wrong behind the scenes and it's going to be pushed back even further.

Hehehe yep. It's hilarious to me that he always thinks himself as the leading character of the story. But why not, I think he's the best man from the game xD.
He has several guns, and the funny thing is guns are not good weapons in this game. But he is a sky pirate and I guess pirates need to have their guns with them xD.

Yeah, I struggle with JRPG's in general....
Me and FF XII never really saw eye to eye, but there are still some great characters, and Balthier was a lot of fun.

That is a HUGE gun! I don't know anything about this character, so is he small and that is a traditional sized gun or is the gun really large?
