El día de hoy mi proyecto fotográfico dedicado a retratar insectos tuvo la necesidad de tener un ligero cambio debido a que la sub especie de mi último modelo no aparece en las búsquedas de Google. Hago pública mi búsqueda de un entomólogo dentro o fuera de la plataforma que me ayude a identificarlo, ya que esto además de ser un espacio fotográfico también tiene un enfoque educativo. Si conoces a alguien, por favor házmelo saber en los comentarios.

Today my photographic project dedicated to portray insects had the need to have a slight change because the subfamily of my latest model does not appear in Google searches. I make public my search for an entomologist inside or outside the platform to help me identify him, as this in addition to being a photographic space also has an educational approach. Debido a lo antes mencionado mi modelo escogida para esta semana será tratada desde su belleza, perfección y aporte educativo. Esta planta siempre capturó mi atención debido a sus detalles físicos tan peculiares y flores de hermoso color, mi abuela la ha tenido durante años y fue la primera planta que me atreví a llevar a mi espacio propio por todo lo antes comentado, sin más preámbulo les presento a:

Due to the above mentioned my chosen model for this week will be treated from its beauty, perfection and educational contribution. This plant always captured my attention due to its peculiar physical details and flowers of beautiful color, my grandmother has had it during years and it was the first plant that I dared to take to my own space so for everything previously commented, without more preamble I present to you:

TRADESCANTIA SILLAMONTANA

Especie más común del género Tradescantia, originaria de México, presenta vellosidades a lo largo de toda su estructura con flores al extremo de su tallo de color generalmente rosado, tallo de color morado y hojas de color "verde grisáceo" en su cara externa y morado en su cara interna.

This is the most common specie of the genus Tradescantia, originating in Mexico, has a white hair cover with flowers at the end of its stem generally pink, purple stem and leaves "green grayish" on its outer face and purple on its inner face.

Es una planta xerófita, lo cual quiere decir que tiene la capacidad de sobrevivir en entornos con poca agua líquida.

It is a xerophyte plant, which means that it has the ability to survive in environments with little liquid water.

DATOS CURIOSOS // CURIOUS FACTS:

• Durante mi investigación una de las fuentes consultadas expresaba que la planta "florece de mediados de primavera a final del verano" sin embargo acá en Venezuela nuestras Sillamontana florecen a lo largo de todo el año, el único requisito para que florezcan es ser consecuentes con su regado y cuidado.

• During my research one of the sources consulted expressed that the plant "flowers from mid-spring to late summer" however here in Venezuela our Sillamontana flowers throughout the year, the only requirement for them to flower is to be consistent with their watering and care.

• La fuente también expresa que las flores de la misma generalmente son de color rosa intenso, sin embargo el tono de nuestras flores se inclinan un poco más a los tonos lila y morado.

• The source also expresses that the flowers generally are of intense pink color, nevertheless the tone of our flowers has a little more to the tones lilac and purple.

• La flor es muy pequeña, tan solo mide apróximadamente 2 cm.

• The flower is very small, it measures less than 1 inch.

• Es una planta muy noble, con plantar unos pocos tallos en una maceta es más que suficiente para que se multiplique y luego florezca.

• It is a very noble plant, planting a few stems in a pot is more than enough for it to multiply and then bloom.

• Es Ideal para interiores y no requiere grandes cantidades de agua. Es necesario distinguir la diferencia entre la frecuencia del riego y la cantidad. Mi abuela no conoce este detalle y definitivamente se lo debo comentar.

• It is ideal for indoors and does not require large amounts of water. It is necessary to distinguish the difference between the frequency of irrigation and the amount. My grandmother doesn't know this detail and I definitely have to tell her.
