Portrait of the light painter as a young boy
This is an unofficial entry into the "Long exposure with a twist" nTopaz photography contest. Unofficial because I neglected to note the submission deadline, which was two days ago (DOH!).
The twist here is that this light painting is done by a 2 year old, none other than @thingtwo. He selected the color combinations himself and when he had colors he liked, he painted with light. I showed him what the long exposures looked like at the beginning and he got the concept right away, making big swoopy gestures to create these abstract forms. He really, really liked doing this. The focus of attention in a dark room, holding a many-stranded fiber optic whip, shaping light into form. @thingtwo rocks :) Hope you enjoy!
Tagging some of the light painters I enjoy who post on Steem - maybe share your first light painting experiences in the comments? How old were you when you first tried light painting? Were you hooked immediately? Have you shared this artform with young people?

That must have been an unforgettable experience, it's great that you wanted to share that moment with the little one, he looks very happy and formed beautiful patterns. It has many forms that really are good, one of them looks like an ear XD, I also like small strokes everything looks very magical !. I have never done something with light of this type, but I have a hunch that you liked a lot and we will see your photos again. Thank you for sharing your experience with the ntopaz community.
Hey there emerging Light Painter... Welcome to a possible next addiction. I think the result is really cool and the expirience is similar to what Mafu expirienced with his beautiful son.
I would like that too if I had one 😎
For me it wasn't right away every weekend. It started slow easy. The moment I did it with people together I was hocked. It's so much fun to do with other people together. I was interviewed by some friends and I shared on YouTube. It does show some of my beginners shots. 😁

We had so much fun doing this. I think holding light in the darkness triggers some primal feelings

Really nice project, @thingtwo really rocks in art and in such a young age:) It must have been an enjoyable process for both of you, discovering a new world of artistic possiblities. Its too bad you missed the contest, i have done some experiments with my phone too but nothing as cool as yours. I am sure the lightpainting community will appreciate the work of the talented little artist:)
Really impressive, but as always the children see everything differently not like we adults. Thank you for sharing @carlgnash :)
Such a pity you missed the deadline for Long exposure with a twist Carl. These waves and twists of light are so alive. Such a great exposure to the world of light art for @thingtwo. He looks so totally absorbed in what he's creating. A true artist. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
He is actually a very talented pen artist as well - he has a great eye for color combinations and motion
The light is a treasure for us. Essential source of the beauty. It is so wonderful! Very usual theme, you find a jewel in our soul. Moving line of the light is like a dance. Wholly active image gives us so stable. That is impressive! You remind us of the childhood as an art. Thank you ~
