Hello to all of Steemit's dear friends.
Today I will speak of Opera Lirica and precisely of the Flying Dutchman also known as the Ghost vessel, an immense work and heritage of humanity by Richard Wagner.
I've been working on a scenic project for some time, but I prefer not to reveal anything else.
I will simply tell you a summary of the story, and I will show you some drawings, paintings and backdrops for the Opera House.

The story has as its protagonist a Dutch captain condemned to wander forever in the seas, like a ghost, for having blasphemed God.
His ship always appears shrouded in mist, and will always enter the tales of sailors around the world.

But God in his goodness, through an angel, offers him the possibility of saving himself.
Every seven years the ship reaches the ground and if the captain finds a woman to marry and show his loyalty, he would stop sailing forever.

During a storm the Dutch ship comes in contact with another Norwegian ship, and the norwegian captain Daland has a daughter named Senta in marriage age.
The Dutch offers him gold and jewels in return, and the Norwegian captain grants him his daughter.
But Senta had promised her love to Erik a hunter, who tries in vain to make her give up on marrying the Dutchman.

Meanwhile, the two ships are again the prey of a violent storm, and the Flying Dutchman sails quickly.

The conclusion is tragic, because Senta seeing the Dutch ship go away, he will commit suicide by throwing himself into the stormy sea, and reappearing embraced with the Dutch captain who would leave the curse forever.

A drama in my opinion, where the woman, as usual, is the subject of manipulations and impositions, moral and spiritual violence.

The interesting part is linked to the many legends about the Flying Dutchman, often sighted by merchant ships or whaling, stories that are written in several adventure novels.
There is a scientific explanation to all sightings of ghost ships, which have occurred since 1700 and that for 200 years have enriched the stories told in cellars or taverns of the ports of the world.

It is an optical illusion, which occurs in the sun, often in summer, in places particularly affected by sunlight, such as paved roads, and we believe we see moving in the distance, something indistinct.
This mirage is called Fata Morgana, in Italian also abroad, because it is a particular and complex phenomenon that frequently occurs in the Strait of Messina.
In reality it is only the result of the reflection phenomenon of the sun's rays, due to thermal inversions.

Ciao a tutti cari amici di Steemit.
Oggi parlerò di Opera Lirica e precisamente dell'Olandese Volante
conosciuto anche come il Vascello Fantasma, un'opera immensa e patrimonio dell'umanità di Richard Wagner.
Sto lavorando ad un progetto scenografico da qualche tempo, ma preferisco non svelare altro.
Vi racconterò semplicemente un riassunto della storia, e vi mostrerò qualche bozzetto, dipinti e fondali per Teatro dell'Opera.

La storia ha come protagonista un capitano olandese condannato a vagare per sempre nei mari, come un fantasma, per aver bestemmiato Dio.
La sua nave appare sempre avvolta dalle nebbie, ed entrerà per sempre nei racconti di marinai in tutto il mondo.

Ma Dio nella sua bontà, tramite un angelo, gli offre la possibilità di salvarsi.
Ogni sette anni la nave giunge a terra e se il capitano trovasse una donna da sposare e mostrasse la sua fedeltà, egli avrebbe smesso di navigare in eterno.

Durante una tempesta la nave olandese viene a contatto con un'altra nave norvegese, ed il capitano norvegese Daland ha proprio una figlia di nome Senta in età di matrimonio.
L'olandese gli offre oro e gioielli in cambio, e il capitano norvegese gli concede la figlia.
Ma Senta aveva promesso il suo amore a Erik un cacciatore, il quale tenta invano di farle rinunciare a sposare l'olandese.

Nel frattempo le due navi sono di nuovo preda di una tempesta violentissima, e l'Olandese Volante salpa velocemente.

La conclusione è tragica, perchè Senta vedendo andare via la nave olandese, si suiciderà buttandosi nel mare in tempesta, e riapparendo abbracciata con il capitano olandese che sarebbe uscito per sempre dal maleficio.

Un dramma a mio parere, dove la donna, come al solito è fatta oggetto di manipolazioni e imposizioni, violenze morali e spirituali.

Una parte interessante è legata alle moltissime leggende sull'Olandese Volante, avvistato spesso da navi mercantili o balenerie, storie che sono descritte in parecchi romanzi di avventura.
Esiste una spiegazione scientifica a tutti gli avvistamenti di navi fantasma, che sono avvenuti dal 1700 e che per 200 anni hanno arricchito le storie narrate in cantine o bettole dei porti di tutto il mondo.

Si tratta di un'illusione ottica, che si verifica al sole, spesso in estate, in luoghi particolarmente colpiti dai raggi solari, come ad esempio le strade asfaltate, e noi crediamo di vedere muoversi in lontananza, qualcosa di indistinto.
Questo miraggio è chiamato Fata Morgana, in lingua italiana anche all'estero, perchè è un particolare e complesso fenomeno che avviene di frequente nello Stretto di Messina.
Nella realtà è solo il risultato del fenomeno di riflessione dei raggi del sole, dovuto ad inversioni termiche.

ACT THIRD
Sea inlet with rocky coast; Daland's house on one side, on the front. They occupy the bottom
of the scene both the Norwegian and Dutch vessels located close enough to each other.
The appearance of the Dutch vessel offers a dismal contrast; an unnatural darkness is diffused on it.
A deathly silence dominates.

ATTO TERZO
Insenatura di mare con costa rocciosa; la casa di Daland da una parte, sul davanti. Occupano il fondo
della scena ambedue i vascelli del Norvegese e dell’Olandese situati abbastanza vicini l’uno all’altro.
L’aspetto del vascello olandese offre un lugubre contrasto; un’oscurità non naturale è diffusa su di esso.
Domina un silenzio di morte.
