"Anniversary Gift". Step by step process. (R52_2019_N7)

Hi everybody. Finally the week is almost end. I came back on some projects in stand by that was impossible to finish because blackout in Venezuela, luckily this week we had a more stable service electricity.

For this post I would like to show the process of an artwork I made for my girlfriend as a gift to celebrate our 2 years of being dancing together. I feel really lucky to have a wonderful, comprensive and beutiful woman at my side.

Lets explain how was the proces to make it.

1- The first step is almost always the same I use in my general work, I mean, make a simple sketch. The main idea in this case was draw us with a tango pose (in fact we met dancing tango).

2- After is neccesary clean the sketch, making a more defining shapes and lines. In this step was difficult to ubicate well the right direction of legs of male character.

3- Flat color process. Here I only applied the color base in each part of characters.

4- After applied the flat color is necessary use some shadows and lights at characters, this process help to emulate a 3D effects.

5- The final step is the background. I made some background color possibilities and I prefered to use a purple, is more elegant and fashion. Another effects that I like to use at my work is a color gradient at sketch layer (the color goes blue to black tone at the sketch layer). And finally it is completed done. My girlfriend loved it and I am really happy of the final result. This kind of gift is really appreciate it, is something that is necessary to dedicate time and effort to make it and this add an extra value as a gift.
