Now Playing: Week 64 (Mar 17 - Mar 23)

Once again we've arrived to a new edition of the #nowplaying contest in its week Nº 64 sponsored by the guys of @nowplaying-music. Yeah, check them out, read the rules to participate and share with us your favorite musical gems. :)

And as I've said in the title, yep, I actually have a mellow & softer side. I'm not always such a serious guy with a frown always sowing fear and respect everywhere I go. To the degree that nobody wants to comment on my posts anymore. I also have my little mushy tiny heart you know. :)

So, for this week, I would want to share with you a handful of mesmerizing beautiful songs that I've been listening since the week started this Monday. All of them mellow melodies, so that they can melt your heart too in full emotionalism, relaxation and contemplation. Simply, because today I'm feeling myself a little bit more in a jazzy and romantic mood. :)

And what's a better music to show a soft and mellow side than those played by violins? ¿eh? That's right and it's just the kind of music that I'll immediately share with you. Executed by a couple of my favorite violinists over the years.

¡Alright! let's start...

First of all, with this sweet, flavorful and tasty one especially For You by Steve Kindler from the record "Automatic-Writing"

💕¡For You!💕

Steve Kindler played in The Honolulu Symphony, but he cut his jazz chops as a member of John McLaughlin's fusion band, Mahavishnu Orchestra. Kindler has also toured and recorded with Jan Hammer, Jeff Beck, and Kitaro. Kindler's smooth yet impassioned violin improvisations are the perfect vehicle for his own highly melodic compositions, combining classical, jazz, rock, and ethnic influences. In addition, Kindler is a member of Barefoot, a co-op world-music dance group.

On his own records he has been basically a solo Artist, Producer, Engineer, Arranger, Mixing, Autoharp, Violin, Violin (Electric), Synthesizer, Synthesizer Bass, Drums, Drum Machine, Emulator, Performer, DX-7, Composer most of the time. On this piece specifically performing as a Primary Solo Artist on the Guitar, Synthesizer & Violin.

Next and not in any specific order nor "Automatic-Writing" from my part. My other favorite and always well pondered master violinist. ¡One of the greatest of all times!

💕«-Renaissance-»💕

Jean Luc Ponty. Widely known across the world for its long and magnificent career in the world of music and circuits of the jazz elite. On this occasion, with the no less famous accompanying musicians Al Di Meola on the guitar & Stanley Clarke on the bass executing this memorable gorgeous song from the tour "The Rite of Strings"

And since this beautiful song is indeed kind of a legend in the world of Contemporary Jazz & New Age musical circuits. And which has been performed countless times over the years by multiple famous musicians accompanying the master Jean Luc Ponty. Over here, I'm gonna offer you also the studio version of when this jewel of song was recorded for the first time on the album Aurora in 1975. :)

Renaissance - Aurora Album 1975

  • Jean-Luc Ponty – violin, autoharp, keyboards, violectra
  • Daryl Stuermer – electric and acoustic guitars
  • Patrice Rushen – synthesizer, piano, keyboards
  • Tom Fowler – electric bass
  • Norman Fearrington – drums, percussion

«-COMERCIAL BREAK-»

By the way. ¿Have you noticed the latest Google Doodle which lets you create Bach-like music of your own? ¿No? ¿Haven't seen it yet?

Yeah, yeah! clueless head. That one on the top center of your screen when you visit Google Search Engine? That one that if you move your mouse pointer over the image they announce that they are celebrating Johann Sebastian Bach today? ¿No? ¿Nothing?

Bah! then just click and play here the damn thing!!

Well, all that Google Doodle stuff has been just to justify the video that I'm going to share next. From my select trunk of memories. With an excellent J. S. Bach song executed by one of my favorite Dutch rock bands of the 60s who are not very well known across the world.

"Toccata and Fugue in D Minor For Pipe Organ"

Ekseption Band:

  • Rein van den Broek – trumpet, flugelhorn
  • Jan Vennik – Soprano & Tenor saxophones, flute
  • Cor Dekker – bass guitar
  • Pieter Voogt – drums, percussion
  • Rick van der Linden – piano, (pipe) organ, spinet, ARP2600, synthesizer, mellotron

Oh yeah, through this dutch band, although it has not been well known throughout the world, certainly a great variety of talented musicians and big celebrities have passed thru their regular line up. ¡Check the link above!

¡Ok folks! I think it has been enough Tenderness, Smoothness & Mellowness from me today. So, I guess it'll be better get back again to my regular Groovy & Funky manners.

🤑«-'Sham Time'-»🤑

Oh Yeah! Sham Time for me, for you, for everyone else!! ¡Cya Later!! :)
