The story follows the life of Ye Ci, the main character of the novel. For 10 years, Ye Ci has been playing a VRMMORPG (Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game) called Fate. In her quest to be the best in the game and climb to the top, she betrayed friends and allies alike, abandoning her honor in favor of glory. Her friends left her, and her parents were disappointed in her. Even the few individuals that harbored hopes in her gave up on her. She was one of the most despicable players, shunned by all, accepted by none. She was alone.

After an accidental death however, Ye Ci was given a second chance. She was reincarnated 10 years into the past, where it all started. Determined to right all her wrongdoings, Ye Ci embarked on a new journey in Fate, seeking to become a professional gamer to bring a better life to her parents, and make amends with the friends and allies she had once betrayed.

The story has a good pacing with action-packed chapters. The progression of the plot is just nice, neither too rush nor was it too slow, which means that we will not be seeing forced events or much filler between major events of the novel. The novel also show a good character development of Ye Ci, the main character. The main character did not transform from a social outcast into a social butterfly overnight, and her struggles to fix her interpersonal skills can be seen throughout the novel.

All and all, Reign of the Hunters is a good read with a fun and engaging plot. A very good way to kill time. Click here to start reading the novel!
