By its components, plastic pollutes the environment and is harmful for humans and wildlife. The smaller the plastic particles, the more dangerous they are: yet, what we call today "micro-plastics" are widely used in cosmetics, and also present in the food chain. Their effects on humans and animals are still completely obscure .
