Part 1: Sogndal to Beijing

In October 2016 I took my 7 year old daughter Alvilde to China and Beijing. Since 2016 marked 10 years since I lived in China, I simply had to go back and visit my favourite country, people and friends that I have there. Alvilde and me started the planning of the trip before the summer, and had plenty of time finding out what we wanted to do.

I made her a folder with our schedule and information about things we would experience, and she borrowed books about China that she read. Everything building up to the Thursday, when I picked her up after school, and we drove directly to Norways capital Oslo.

After picking her up and driving for 15 minutes, we drove onto the ferry between Manheller and Fodnes. It was dinner time, so we picked up some hot dogs on our first stop. The ferry only took 10 minutes.

After about 2 hours, our next stop was at Nor-Kro in Bromma. We picked up some food and snacks and made a short pit stop, eager to get to Oslo.

After a total of 4,5 hours we came to my sisters place in Oslo. We spent the night there before going to the airport the next day. This was Alvildes first time using the subway. And the first time going by train. AND it would be her first ever flight. So it was an exciting start to the trip. At the airport we checked in and ate our last meal (for now) in Norway. With Norway being in the top when it comes to which country eats the most Pizza compared to inhabitants, we had to eat pizza...

We boarded the plane and was ready for the first flight, from Oslo, Gardermoen to Amsterdam. Alvilde got some free pencils and what not, and was over the moon.

Not so happy about the food though. Water in a plastic bowl? And is this bread or a cake?

After a short stop at Schiphol, the airport in Amsterdam, we got onto a China Southern plane. The food there was better, at least for me. Alvilde got some chili, which supposedly sat her mouth on fire. I didn't exactly see any flames. But who knows XD.

The trip from Amsterdam to China took around 9,5 hours. We were awake for around half of the trip, trying to get some sleep, since we would arrive at 0600 local time in Beijing. With a selection of fairly new movies on the on-board-entertainment system, time went pretty fast.

Here are our videos from day 1 and 2 of the trip. From we left Sogndal Thursday, and landed in Beijing Saturday.

You have such a cute daughter, she must have enjoyed her trip to China very much.

She loved it and can't wait to go back. Just like me. But next time I'm bringing my son who is a year younger than his sister
