Training for American Ninja Warrior - Day 5
Hello hello!
So I didn't do my usual training today, because I snowed it up instead.
Guess how much it cost me? In total? $36!
Granted I already have my board and boots and goggles and junk, but still... the season in Australia is usually so short and the snow is generally man-made that they charge so much for everything. My partner and I have easily spent $1000 on one snow weekend in Melbourne before. So, ah, $36 in total = good.
I didn't get to the snow last year at all... but the last time I went the snow was like sorbet.. this time, it was super icy. Although that might have been partly my fault. The eternal struggle between getting a good car park, getting on the slopes before it's too busy, and dealing with icy conditions is a tough one to balance.
I ended up falling heaps... and I only get off the chairlift successfully once the whole half day. I think because no one was there they just had it at full speed and I do not yet have the skillage for a rockin' dismount.
One of my falls screwed with my neck, so I didn't do abs today... which is probably just as well because I'm going to restart that whole thing on Monday. My GB back in Melbourne wants to get in on the action... and we're doing a junk food challenge too, so my diet will clean all the way up for the next 30 days (after today).

But it's mostly man-made and there are 2000 people on the smallest ski run ever. It's absolute chaos on a weekend... people just falling all over the place. Going to any other mountain overseas is pure bliss!
Thanks! I'm glad you like the bot. It'd be great if anyone who has spare SP delegated to it... it's Resource Credits aren't quite handling all the games that are using it. I'm going to delegate some more to it myself.

Haha! There's always that balance of putting in the grind to get great at things, versus shaking it up to keep it fun and lively!
If you want snow, just come to Poland, we have tonnes of the bloody stuff on my drive. :-)
Ha! I mean, I don't want to deal snow on the daily... I'm happy for it to be a 2 hour drive away where I can go, fall over heaps, have a rad time and then come home to no-show and jacuzzis.
That does look very pretty though. Do the cats love it, or do they have to shake their paws off every step?

I haven't been snowboarding in ages! I'm going with some friends at work in Feb -- really looking forward to it, but not looking forward to how sore I'm gonna be.

Ha! How many days are you going for?
I kinda like to go for a couple of hours, and then take a massive break... which works well if you're a quick roadtrip away or staying for a few days... if I'm just there for the day or the weekend, the hurt gets real bad.
Going for at least one night -- maybe two. We'll see how long we can convince @somebuttstuff to watch our dogs for -- probably only do one day of snowboarding, and maybe spend the next day skating / playing some hockey / enjoying winter for a bit.
How was your time at the mountain?
So I literally only went for 2 hours... and the previous time for 3... the mountain is close enough that I can just drive, get a cheapy lift pass and snowboard until I start to get terrible and then get the heck out. In Aus because it's such a massive effort, you're kinda committed for the whole day even though you're #exhausted and sore.
