The fallen giant will rise again,
Sons and daughters of the soil will thrive this day
With raised arms and a gladden heart, blessings upon Nigeria
Free from hunger, poverty and political hysteria

Upon the fertile grounds of the land we will stand our adversaries
Do exploits, bless the day and happily celebrate independence anniversaries
The people will find a reason to laugh and smile
Give it time. Just a matter of time till it pass.

Nigeria my country, my nation and pride
Giant of Africa with blessed potentials; people, cultural heritages and tribes,
And like a sun's retreat at the advent of a heavy rain,
Troubles and worries will be vanquished till only happiness remain.

Nigeria. Oh happy are you, Nigeria
Forlorn hope be reignited at this hour.
A united people heeding the nation's call;
O' compatriots, Arise. Arise and shine for ever more.
