STEEMIT REWARD SYSTEM IS A FAIR ONE

I have been reading various posts about the reward methods on steemit. A lot complained of unfairness while others felt it is OK. I will attempt to present my own point of view while appreciating the opinions of some experienced steemians.

REWARD METHODS AND COMPLAINS

SELF UPVOTING

One of the most grumbled about reward methods is the self upvoting. A lot felt it is improper for a steemian to self vote himself. One thing I observed is that the complaint comes mostly from low steem power steemians and mostly targeted the big whales with loads of steem power. Some went as far as suggesting downvoting them either covertly or otherwise just to discourage it.

My Opinion: I personally don't see anything bad in this, there are different ways people invest into steemit, while some can write quality content thereby investing their times. Others invest their money by buying and growing their steem power. One common ground is that both expect profits and good reward for their investments. So it is not out of place to upvote the post to reap rewards. Accordingly, sometimes you make a post and no upvote after some time. The author is tempted to upvote it to encourage himself at least you can see something different from $0.00 earnings. This later one is mostly practiced by newbies and minnows. I belong to this group. So surely it is not an unfair deal "my thought".

CURATION AND SALE OF UPVOTE

Another issue with the reward methods that seems uneasy with some steemians is the curation reward position and how some sells their upvotes. A lot of curators don't curate based on content rather they do based on highest bidder or how much you pay them.

My Opinion : While this is condemned by many, I think it is not entirely bad, like I said earlier, one of the major reasons 90% join steemit is to make reasonable earnings. This was what push a lot to join hands with others to either delegate steem power or buy it so they can maximize profits. Not everybody can scout out and search the steemit platform to get a quality content to curate. Most times one needs to call the attention of the curators to their post and one easy way is by bidding. Others who simply feel they can't go about curating post or lack proper understanding may feel they can just sell their upvotes. And to the buyer it is a win-win situation since you get sometime twice and more than what you pay. Again I still do not feel unfairness here because some steemians who may not be considered by curators even with their great content can at least be encouraged to continue to steem on if they pay and get double or more of their expenses.

USE OF BOT TO GET REWARD

another angle the issue of unfairness pops up in steemit reward is the use of bots. A lot felt it is wrong and particularly unfair to use bots to claim reward by automatically upvoting posts thereby amassing curation rewards to themselves. But this also has been given attention by steemit by introducing a 30 minutes curation strategy.

My Opinion : While this may look very so unfair, I think it is not entirely inhumane, because it takes a lot to come with such bot and thank God so far steemit has taken step to prevent what would have been unfair.

Overall, I see the entire steemit reward system as good and such that can stand the test of time. Notwithstanding, there is still room for improvement and better work-out reward methods. Of course it can only get better with this present ever technologically changing world.

Like I said I admire and really do appreciate the current reward system. Looking at the complaints and concerns it is very true that you can not please everybody at the same time. What A likes may be distasteful to B. So if you want to succeed listen to various advice but sift them to get the best. You may not need to border about some advice.

AREA THAT NEEDS TO BE INNOVATED PERHAPS
I suggest more efficient and encouraging means of rewarding quality content be developed. I mean such that will not entirely depend on curators. I am talking about an automatic means of identifying a great content and attaching a reward to it. Well I can't say exactly how it should be but I am sure something sweet and encouraging can be worked out in order to bring in and develop super content creators.
