We can update the graphics later, the important part at this point is that even though it's HTML and JavaScript based on the front end, the back end uses the same core code as the existing wallet. Also, it will come packaged as an application for Windows, Mac and Linux - you wont have to run it from a web browser for example. It uses Electron, the same technology that the Slack, Github Desktop, and Visual Studio Code do for the front end. See http://electron.atom.io
