Most people think the Chinese New Year starts the Year of the Rooster for this year. Actually, the year actually starts on the the LiChun 立春 which is mostly 4th February and sometimes 5th February. So, if you are born in before 4th this year even after Chinese New Year, your Chinese zodiac sign is the Monkey and not Rooster.
Yes that is true. Spring Festival is the official start of the Rooster. I have jumped the gun as they say.

The thing about Chinese New years and Western New Years that always confuses me Chinese people have 2 ages. The lunar birthday and the other which I never really figured. lol
