Well, Social Networks is all about Voice or Narrative?
I mean...
The whole concept of Social Networks in which Content Creators and all its voluntary members are gonna be monetarily rewarded by their usual online activities and sharing their stuff in there. Consume the content of other authors. Interact with their peers within the same platform through comments, votes, tips, likes and many other ways of feedback and human engagement. In a Century XXI Attention & Sharing economy in the current and upcoming online digital world of the Web 3.0.
¿How are we supposed to call this?
It will be that all this will mean that we will have a true digital online presence whose Voice will have real value and deserve to be monetarily rewarded?
Or will it be that all this will become just pure Narrative for a short-lived time only?
Evidently many of us are already clear that in this world, physical, digital or otherwise, there is no such thing as what we could call Eternal.
It's obvious that everything changes. And it changes all the time. Each time faster. And almost all these disruptive changes tend to last the same as a fart in a hammock. This is just evolution and law of life.
Are we going to finally be able to really crystallize all these dreams of freedom, independence and auto sustainability to express our talents, creativity, thoughts and words censorless publicly on the Net by just creating a digital persona which eventually can be noticed, recognized and appreciated worldwide to the point that your eventual equally adventure's peers willingly contemplate support each other monetarily along the way?
Does all this monetary infrastructure needs to be created, built and developed with blockchain technologies or not?
Uhm, well, currently at this very moment I don't know. In this instant, right now from here where I am sitting writing this post, I am still not completely sure. Stranger things I've seen happening all the time.
Perhaps It will be that all this is just a matter of esteem, self-esteem or simple steem?
I really ignore it for now. And for the same reason I will allow you let me know through your opinion and comments here next below.
Because at the end of the day, we are all already pretty aware that everybody always has their very own 'concept' of what balance really means. };)

I don't know or particularly care where you are, but I have the ability to directly influence how you are rewarded for your intellectual property through votes. You have the ability to mine that intellectual property like you are digging for gold in your own backyard. I have the ability to increase my influence through mining my own intellectual property or simply buying it from others.
I challenge anyone to present to me a similar setup in this crypto ecosystem that allows micropayments for information sharing that transcends borders. One that you can literally mine your intellectual effort, and do so anonymously if desired. It's not perfect, but there's nothing else like it.
It's not perfect, but "maybe" there's nothing else like it. (sounds a lil bit more accurate) };)

It’s up to us in the end. What I hope for is choices, and decentralization of power and morality, but a unified vision of freedom, compassion and sustainability.
Like we can live in autonomous farming communities or we can play the whole social media game and enjoy the latest tech and trends or live in a cave or somewhere in between and we will all be cheering each other on and there will be fuck ups and mistakes but we will figure it out

Yep! I kinda scrupulously, tend to agree with this assessment of yours @whatamidoing.
However, I also find pretty interesting watch the use of these four highlighted words in the quote deployed across the same sentence if we are talking here in human terms.
As for choices, I'm afraid human beings have had choices and freedom of choice like, uhm, erm, well, like forever. What do you think is what has prevented them from exercising with firm decision such choices?
Is it because they have been so prevented by those at the top and pinnacle of power that set the rules imposing them to everyone and their pets to follow blindly and without questioning, exploiting their faith, superstitions, ignorance, weakness and unwillingness to rebel against them?
Or is this because from the same instant that they decide abandon their 'solitude' to join a couple partnership, a gang, a clan, a lodge, a tribe, a community and ultimately join to an overpopulated & polluted society. There are not anymore 'singular' or particular 'choices' but just following the rules which govern most of your congeners you like it or not?
Regarding the idea of true decentralization. It may well be a myth. A simple mirage, illusion and wishful ethereal goal. It is not that we are not trying. But to achieve this it is necessary that we reread with greater attention, detail and depth the points 1 and 2 that I have already highlighted above. ;)
And last but not least, as for morality and 'unified vision', again; from a human point of view. I suspect morality is specifically the hardest nut to crack. Humanly speaking, of course.

Unlike a lot of cynics I think we have come a long way, and it always looks like it’s getting worse but that is rarely the case.
It’s a balancing game, I think that people generally fall into top categories, too individualistic or too collective. I think the ease with which we can cross borders now is allowing us to finally experience not with happy mediums.
I think it’s important to realize we are still recovering from millennia of trauma where social norms were much tighter than they are today for most and there was less mobility.

Yeah, very well said and exposed. I can now agree big time with this last perspective. And there is no doubt all this is indeed a balancing game. Hence, the visual allegories depicted along my post. :)
But in any case, I also believe that the dose and degree of cynicism with which we both tend to dye our own lenses to observe the future, in my case it tends to include and have more shades of gray in the measure that we are aging.
I suspect that you still have to be much younger than me and from there, probably your more colorful optics and slightly greater optimism and lack of cynicism. ;)
Undoubtedly! Humanity has been, currently is and will be perpetually 'experimenting' until our planet & mother earth decides to shake outta her harmonious body, once and for all, these parasitic and bloodsucking species that inhabit within & across it.
I'm afraid we all are already at the edge and in the threshold of our last chance to experiment.
