Social Media aspect of Steem
If there's one thing that people outside the Steem-chain don't get is the fact that Steem-based social media platforms are more effective than the conventional ones out there. This is particularly true for accounts that doesn't have network yet and are just starting out on there social activities. Many would say that Steem-based apps are very difficult to navigate, however that was the only hurdle that I can think of. If an account has managed to understand the way things work here in the blockchain, everything will result with a very good outcome.
One of the reasons why I prefer to Steem-based apps is the fact that the user base is not yet saturated with scam users & bots. I'm not saying that we don't have any of these abusive behaviours, in fact there are a lot, however because of the active participation of the community, the abusive accounts' activities are being reduced substantially.
The way I see it, this turn around is due to the recently implement economic change that is known as the EIP. Which is why many steem users are talking about it and are grateful on the benefits that it brought.
Due to the increased incentives for the Steem investors or curators, most accounts are turning into selfless curation and are glad to curate for the real content creators. Content discovery is becoming a norm. Many high stake users are either manually curating contents or at least are following a curation trail that are hard at work in discovering interesting contents.
In the past few weeks, I'm already noticing quite a number of high quality posts that are reaching the trending page that are manually curated. These contents are from accounts that wouldn't be able to reach this kind of recognition in the #oldsteem without the help of bit bot services.
That's the reason why I feel very excited about the future of Steem regardless of it's market price in the exchanges.
Just a few months ago, many are complaining about the imbalance on the rewards distribution and the content visibility. Now that we have a solution for it, what are we going to do about it?
