Jared Rice has a great project in decentralizing the web. I deleted my FB and Twitter accounts before any of this happened. Some people suffer from social media addiction, but I preferred the web the way it was back in the mid 90's with dozens of search engines and following links. I got used to doing it that way and that's the way I've gone back to. However, I no longer use centralized IT either because the hazards are just too great.

We are being set up for a digital panopticon that has far reaching consequences due to lack of privacy which include increased victimization because central databases cannot be adequately protected. I know it's hard not to talk about all the injustices, but the people who will make the most difference are the ones who still have never used a computer. They've been excluded from the privilege of banking and will increasingly adopt cryptocurrency use.

In the future this will spring an equity drain on national fiat all around the world and create the phenomena of fake money (as Andreas Antonopoulos has called this). Fake news is just the beginning. It will end with everyone questioning not just what is true, but what is valuable and as a result, questioning the power of money. Once they understand that it's a mistake to allow any central entity to control it, they will never go back to centralized control again.
