If someone like Julian decided to write in steemit will be fantastic news. But if it was really a test of the vulnerability of the platform, I dont think he will join in the near future.

Well, the blockchain itself didn't fail, because people were still using Busy.org and ChainBB.
The blockchain can not be affected by a ddos attack. It could be affected if someone controls most of the nodes. That's not going to happen. The witnesses make sure that does not happen.
