You don't want to know the truth!!

As you may be well aware, steemit was down for a long period of time today. The reason has been blamed on DDoS attacks to bad implementation of UI changes. Well, what really happened is very very quite simple.

In these unsecure days of deep dark web information, the deepest and darkest secrets need a secure unbiased place to live. But, in order to make sure things are secure enough, they must be tested.

@sneak said it was a DDoS attack, which would be interested. Where did you see that there was a DOD attack, and how would one know that the attack came from DOD?

LOL The truth is now known!

Really Steemit was down... i been working for like 4 hours on my last blog that i just add and i did not notice any problems while i was writting or even when i add photos... add the blog without a problem as well, wrote comments and even received votes!
So at least for me Steemit did not went down!
Maybe somebody start a joke or a rumour about it!😉

I understand that only Steemit was attacked. ChainBB, Busy.com and the Command Line Interfarce were still able to connect to the blockchain OK. The Block chain was unaffected.

The solution is obvious..

There should be an App.

I thought there was. ChainBB and Busy.com are technically apps.

Busy.com is a website.
not sure about ChainBB.

In the programming world, they are considered apps, because they connect on top of the source/database.

I thought the same thing that twitter is better than facebook and I've quit facebook entirely for a couple years now. That's great confirmation for me to hear that from Assange, and I wonder if Assange will come to Steemit??

We may never really know.

Once, my website got hacked, and the first thing I saw in the morning when accessing it was the flag of Iraq fluttering in the middle of the screen with an Al'Qaeda theme song. At least the hacker had some decent sense of humor...other than that, all platforms and websites are hacked from time to time, it's no big deal unless they stay shut forever.

If someone like Julian decided to write in steemit will be fantastic news. But if it was really a test of the vulnerability of the platform, I dont think he will join in the near future.
I think the best solution has already provided another comment. To keep improving !!

Well, the blockchain itself didn't fail, because people were still using Busy.org and ChainBB.

The blockchain can not be affected by a ddos attack. It could be affected if someone controls most of the nodes. That's not going to happen. The witnesses make sure that does not happen.
