Update On Hurricane Maria

in #news7 years ago

There's been a lot said about the refusal of the Trump administration's refusal to send aid to Puerto Rico in response to the disastrous effects of Hurricane Maria. The Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulin has blamed Trump personally telling reporters that "people are starving." This is true, but not for the reason she cited. The US Military has sent numerous containers of food, fresh water and other disaster relief supplies (medical etc.).

Lamentably, they sit by the dock where they were unloaded because the Mayor, in concert with the Governor refuse to allow them to leave. Moreover, they refuse to allow aid workers to grant any assistance, denying them licenses and busses. She's right, people are starving and she is rationing water when truckloads of the precious commodity sit in trucks at the harbor. If she did her job, instead of printing t-shirts and playing politics with disaster relief supplies, the people wouldn't be dying. This is Democratic politics at its worst.

This video, by a Puerto Rican police officer tells the tale...

Sort:

It is as shocking as it is expected of Democrats to do such a thing.

Playing politics is one thing... but when it's costing people their lives, it's crossing the line!

Agreed.

Politicians seem to cross this line as a matter of course. They regularly, metaphorically for now, stand on piles of infant corpses to promote their own version of madness.

You said a mouthful! I get the Lifenews Newsletter... Talk about some horror stories!

In that case it's not very metaphorical.

I think the intricacies of metaphor are lost on liberals... Now if you could come up with some good slogans now...

I'm better with metaphor, but how's this for a slogan?

"Imagine a world where no one is defenseless." -Me

This is one of my most appropriate slogans for the Vegas situation.

I like it, but I think it will be a hard sell to the left!

Very interesting. Thank you.

naw...it's not the dhmikratic party at it's worst.
it's typical.

Wow this seems exactly the same in politic games as is it is going with us at this moment in Sint Martin.

Plenty of supplies, but it aint reaching the people

I also wrote about it, cant find the link now, I owe you this one

So strange to me that politics always seem to be more important than the

It never fails to amaze me how many ordinary people the elites are willing to sacrifice!

Exactly... as if its just numbers

what a tragedy for the brother of puerto rico...

Disgusting filth everywhere killing people just to stick it to Trump.

It's unbelievable!
