Shot & Thought - Draught and heat in Norway and its effects.

Good Day Steemians!

Today something different - a report about latest weather phenomena in Norway, or rather whole Scandinavia and big part of Europe. As You all can feel, maybe know or heard about - this year's spring and summer time is extremely hot and dry. The situation is similar in most parts of the Europe but today I want to focus on Norway as my place of living. I will present some of the interesting facts connected to that.

Presented infos come from newspapers, internet, chatting with friends and my own observations, so lets begin..

New records of High temperatures in northern Norway - 30 degree Celsius in Lofoten? Now is a real paradise Islands! With such high temperatures, golden beaches, crystal clear and probably warm waters of the north sea, mountainous landscapes around... wish to be there in May and July.
May was the warmest in Norway since 1937.
Temperature diversity across the Norway - beginning of June - record heat in the south - 32.9 degrees centigrade in Buskerud... in the same time, in the north - temperature falls down to 0 degree - snowfalls expected in the mountains...
Not a week ago - in Lade/Trondheim, termometers showed over 33 degree - the highest temp since 117 years.
Water in Trondheimsfjorden is extremely warm, even people like me, who feel the "bone pain" in cold water, was swimming in the waves without problems...
Water level goes down in all the lakes, because of the draught and huge evaporation. Some of the reservoirs of drinking water have been completely depleted. Big towns like Oslo was reported to have a shortage in drinking water over a month ago.
Prices of energy went up almost twice since spring! - Reason - All energy in Norway comes from "green" sources - most of thiese sources are water plants. Huge instalations of undergound pipes and turbines need great amounts of water to work properly and effective... and the water is getting really low in the mountains. Bying energy from Sweden is expensive.
Maybe Norwegians should think to have some "alternative" source of energy, not based only on water? More and more Wind Power Plans appear but it is not so welcome by locals and meet big resistance.
Insects go crazy! - From my own and other's observations - biting insects like wasps, mosquitoes, midges are extremely active - high temperatures in daytime as well as in night time (even 25 last days!) make them to be over-active. I have never experienced such hungdy mosquitoes in the middle of land and such aggresive wasps in here - every day I have 5-10 wasps flying into my home, when other years I never noticed them flying even outside...
Record in number of turists everywhere - but I think it is natural so I wont talk more about it.
Beaches around the fiords looks like in Majorca or Bulgaria... but this is also nothing strange in days, when it is imposible to stay at home.

11.Extremely high fire risk - starting from May, with small brake in June and continuing in July - Fire hazard is really serious. Right now Sweden is burning, as I know the same in Germany and Greece... Here we can meet the warnings everywhere. Some time ago I couldn't by a one-time grill, lady by the counter just informed, that because of fire risk, thay stopped selling them. Informative action is good, people must be really careful with fire. Especially here, where outdoor living is so popular and natural.
12.Watch out on vipers! In whole Scandinavia there is shortage of serum for the viper's bite. And the vipers become really active when it is so hot! This year also they breed like crazy! Much more of them are seen everywhere. Some numbers: Every year in whole Norway was reported around 30 bites - this year, only in May, was over 100!
13.Sad and very disturbing facts - extreme melting speed of all the glaciers in Norway - something what has not been observed so far, since the melting speed started to be tracked. The results will be known at the end of summer but even know I read they are much worse than other years.
14.I am dying also in such weather ;)... But some changes are expected in this week already - today around 20, cloudy sky - finally some air to breath.
