RE: The Steemit Minute Steem News Powered by Dtube 10/02/2018

HF 20 was a little too centralized. There are 20 witness votes and more than 1 million accounts. If a platform is THAT centralized, Steemit Inc. has to do a better job at reassuring users that they aren't going to get "screwed". A lot of users got screwed during HF20. Perhaps things are better now. I don't know why they were so bad for a few days. The whole fiasco takes away confidence. If Ned wants to continue to live in the shadows, there need to be more and more qualified witnesses who "take a fall" when they screw up.

The downvoting is bad PR (Public Relations) so soon after the HF.

Sort:

There was little to no testing from what I heard that was some of the issues of HF20. I have full confidence in our witnesses, its our CEO's lack of community outreach that bothers me.

HF20 wouldn't have happened without the witness' vote. How did the witnesses decide to run the HF without proper information? Couldn't they have figured out that the system needed to be tested? There ARE people on steemit like @reggaemuffin who claim to have expertise with software releases and want to be witnesses and also know what needs to be done before something is sprung on hundreds of thousands of users.

I hope everyone learned their lesson.

I really think they did as there is a lot of talk about testing before SMT's come out, which will be our next major update in March (2019)
