RE: dTube: EXPOSING Gwyneth Paltrow's "Goop" & Pseudoscience Nonsense

in #news6 years ago

Really good interview. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think we need to ban these products -- we need to increase buyer awareness and give people better ways of reviewing and spreading information to other consumers.

That being said, if something is found to be harmful and unsafe, yes, it should be illegal.

Anyone agree, disagree?

there are legal complexities to banning these products

I agree, generally.

I think when it comes to banning things, it all comes down to where we draw the line on harmfulness.

Some people think we should ban all things "chemical", but if we did that then we'd all have to mutually agree to living an existence kinda like Bubble Boy. And, as should be pretty apparent by now, American people aren't much predisposed to mutuality or agreement on very much of anything as a cohesive whole.

A lot of things are harmful, but without a doubt deadly, toxic things, and especially those being sold for people to topically apply, as goop onto their skin, would be best banned, imo.

So yeah, I agree. And unpopular opinions are often synonymous with being a hindrance to a corporate profit motive, so there's always going to be that battle to fight.

I think the first commenter @movievigilante had it right, "Goop is full of poop", in more ways than one.
