Marrying your Anime?
After a really busy weekend, I finally have time to catch up with news, and what did I see?

Japanese has now legalised (?) marrying your own Anime character? With even a kiss mic to signify the bride's lips...
I remembered that once that there were some really troubling erotic ideas when people put on suits for intimacy in VR with "other players"... I think this scary idea might come true soon.
though this could be useful for couples who are far apart, but still... that is troubling
And, why on earth is having it in a church setting appropriate? Are church weddings the most romantic way to marry? I am bewildered.

I personally feel that flesh and blood is still more practical. If a distance is at hand perseverance, patience and endurance is the test that couples need to face; but also the longing is more fulfilling when couples meet again.
This VR facility is making things easy come, easy go
What do you think? Is this appropriate? Is this totally normal to you? Thoughts and comments are totally welcome.
ps: This is actually a very good time to think, is letting your kids engrossed with online games especially in VR a good thing or not

I am torn. On one hand, it is not hurting anyone. Plus, in areas where population control has been a concern, I can see where it is something viable to encourage. That being said, it also sort of makes a joke about the whole process in my opinion. I have been working on an article about robot sex dolls and the sexualization of VR and I have found some interesting things. I don't know, maybe it is just that it is weird to me. Perhaps I don't like how the idealized form of VR or robotics is already showing it's head and even making an impact on how women are being treated. I am trying to catch up on American acceptance of these things, there is no way I can comprehend Japanese. The culture is too far removed from my own. That being said, I try to have little opinion on the whole thing but it proves difficult as it spreads into my own world.
I actually have a very similar thought @rumdancer , then again the human mind works in ways we might never ever understand psychologically. If this really happens, as you have mentioned, the value of women is totally changed because how these men are being wired into.
In Japan, they even have a restaurant where there is no human interaction at all when you have your Ramen. I mean it is good when you need some solitude, but it also can go very weary when humans are isolated in that manner.

Me neither, @elizacheng , me neither. But this IS a concerning case when VRs are getting more and more popular for teens everywhere.
Oh God, please let my waifu be real. This is heart warming/breaking. As someone who makes Virtual reality games, I have to say there is a real danger of escapist imagery. Fruitless trees that grow and look pretty but bear no fruit. I do not think this will make people happy in the long run, they will never know what it means to sleep next to their best friend, or wake up to waffles or children luaghing. That is until the A.I. come in, then I am all for it. Robot waifu here I come.

Wait. Wasn't there a movie of an OS A.I. that the man fell in love with? The voice of Scarlet Johansson as the OS?
It's like having a distance relationship but you will never meet her in person; until your A.I needs to meet YOU!

You could be right about the Matrix thing... probably the first stage until they find a way to "upload" your memories into the internet like The Transcendent
