Reduced price of leather

On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, the government and businessmen have decided to price the sacrifice of animal skin. But it is less than the previous year. At present, the price of cow skin per sqft of salt will be 45 to 50 taka and outside of Dhaka Tk 35 to 40. The cost per square year was 45 to 55 rupees in Dhaka and 40 to 45 rupees out of Dhaka.

Besides, Khasir skin has been asked to collect 18-20 rupees per square piece of leather and bakery skin from 13 to 15 taka. Last year Khasir skin was fixed at 20 to 22 taka per square, and bakery skin was fixed at Tk 15-17.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed held a long meeting on Thursday in the Secretariat with the representatives of leather industry entrepreneurs, businessmen, exporters and law enforcement personnel to determine the price of animal leather. After the meeting, the commerce minister told the journalists about the new price of animal leather.
