Researchers suggest using nanobots based on algae to diagnose and treat patients
Nanobots can be another breakthrough in medicine. With their help, doctors will be able to diagnose and treat patients without invasive surgical operations. True, this approach has its drawbacks. for example, it is problematic to direct nanobots to a specific organ, and it is also not easy to remove them from the body when there is no longer any need for them. But the researchers found a solution to these problems. They suggest using natural materials for the production of nanobots.
In particular, it is proposed to create nanobots using the kind of algae spirulina that can be found in health food stores. The natural composition not only allows decomposition, but it makes it relatively easy to control and track nanobots. They contain magnetic iron oxide, which allows doctors to direct them with magnetic resonance imaging, as well as control the rate of decomposition. And thanks to natural fluorescent components, they are easy to identify.
Moreover, such nanobots can be quite flexible in use. They can be used both for delivery of the necessary medicines to the target organs, and for diagnostic purposes. For example, they can react to changes in the environment, which is evidence of an impending disease. Diagnosis of some conditions may be more accurate, especially those organs and parts of the body that are usually hard to reach.
So far, we are not talking about the imminent start of the use of biological nanobots in medicine. Researchers first need to improve their effectiveness, improve tracking, and also check the safety for the human body. Only then will the phase of clinical research begin in humans.
Let's just hope that huge health companies will not use to to boost their wealth.
Good job! Thanks to @mariachan you have planted 0.13 tree to save Abongphen Highland Forest in Cameroon. Help me to plant 1,000,000 trees and share my Steem Power to the others. Selfvoting is prohibited, but that should be the reason to spread the world to protect our precious environment. Check out profile of our conservation association @kedjom-keku and the founder/coordinator @martin.mikes to get more information about our conservation program. My current SP is 14336.74. Help me to plant more trees with your delegated SP.
Thanks a lot,
