The 150 Megawatt Concepcion Solar Farm comprises close to 450,000 solar panels over 150 hectares in Concepcion, Tarlac, North of Manila. This will supply the entire Tarlac province with cheap renewable energy in about 6 months time this year.
Solar Philippines
Constructed by Solar Philippines, the cost is $1 million per MW, or $150 million for the entire project.
This is the first time that I've heard of a solar farm in the Philippines, although a friend's family had been installing it as per order to private families for a couple of years now.
This sounds very promising for the Philippines, it's a long way yet to be like Costa Rica, but it's a start.
