That is so sad. Venezuela is rich in natural resources and there is no reason for things to be this way. Socialists in this country like Bernie Sanders and his followers should take a hard look at that country and see what the true effect of socialism is. I can't imagine what it would be like to try to provide for a family under those conditions.
It is extremely complicated, believe me ... socialism is the sum of many utopian ideas that try to transform man endogenously but forgetting about the Creator. It is an economic hypocrisy where the poor become poorer and the rich richer; this is a thousand times wilder than "capitalism" per se.
I hope you and your family can make it through this safely, my friend. There is a good website called The Modern Survivalist by Fernando Aguirre, who survived the economic collapse in Argentina and moved his family to Europe when he was able to. I think the situation in Venezuela right now is much worse than it ever was in Argentina. Aguirre also wrote a book called Surviving the Economic Collapse describing his experience with the ordeal and offering his advice on the subject.

Thank you very much for the recommendation and for your good wishes. Without a doubt I will read the experiences of Aguirre because surely we can learn a lot, however, certainly the Venezuelan situation is unprecedented ... at least in Latin America.
