Media's latest campaign to smear Trump

in #news5 years ago (edited)

Full disclosure: I am not a fan of Trump, but I am also not someone who is obsessed with hating him and jumping on to any ol' bandwagon that can fuel the insane fire in my head like many people I know and I am sure you do too. I am rather indifferent to his presidency because I feel that both Republicans and Democrats are both arguing over whose form of slavery is better. I haven't voted for a mainstream candidate in more than 20 years.

anyway, moving on: This article is about the latest media bullcrap fiasco that pretty much defines how journalism is dead....

I can only imagine what goes on in the war room over at CNN and other liberal news outlets but this one is just so silly. I can imagine

Exec 1: "you know how all of those sexual assault accusations against the president really worked to not get him elected and how another one helped to get a Supreme Court justice denied?"

Exec 2: "Actually the opposite of that happened"

Exec 1: "Well i've got this woman who says Trump assaulted her and and she can't remember the year it was meant to happen and no one can confirm her story"

Exec 2: "Brilliant! Let's get it done!"

Trump barely paid the story much mind and was finished talking about it after 2 sentences. I am quite certain that the media will make this their primary line of questioning for weeks to come and there are people out there that wonder why dude doesn't want to talk to the press. Reporters like Jim Acosta are going to cry fowl and how Trump is willfully violating the 2nd amendment or other such nonsense but seriously folks. How is this journalistic integrity? Can you seriously not understand why only around 20% of the USA population trusts the media? It's because of shite like this.

Of course the clickbait articles worked and every trump-hater in my social media feed ate it up like free donuts. So I suppose, for CNN's point of view this dumbass story achieved exactly what they set out to do.

And what a wonderful coincidence this is! E. Jean Carrol (the woman making the accusation against Trump from more than 20 years ago) Just so happens to have a book coming out next week. What an unbelievable coincidence! Totally not planned at all I'm sure!

It's quite obvious that CNN is just doing what they do - to make up news to hang on to their very dedicated (although dwindling) fanbase by doing the one thing it seems they still know how to do which is bash Trump at every available avenue. This isn't going to affect the President's supporters, it is going to do the opposite. It might even push a few independents to vote for the man that don't want him to be President, but would really enjoy making the people who peddle this garbage cry for another 4 years.

Sort:

I just agree with everything you said here, but especially with the first text.

One thing trump keeps mentioning is the media bias and slander\misinformation\etc., towards him, and for whatever reason, instead of tackling these issues a different way, the media outlets fight harder to prove him right every time.

Maybe it's spite, maybe it's impulse, but whatever it is, It's a move that isn't done with much thought and unfortunately hurts them in the scope of america's already heightened media skepticism.

A news organization has to preserve its integrity because it is the origin of its business base. CNN lost it and now, it is only a matter of time for the people to fully realize it and abandon it. CNN used to be a respectful organization.

i am sure they are losing money but they seem to have accidentally rebranded themselves as the anti-republican (and especially Trump) network... This actually works for a lot of their fans and I think they have gone too far down that road to turn back. I don't believe we will see their tune change at all. TV news is dying across the board but I think CNN will be one of the first major ones to close if that ends up happening at all.

They (CNN et al) fight for the establishment (Republican and Democrat alike)

Being on neutral side in case of Donald Trump.I completely hate how journalism have turned into making news on their own convenience and just for T.R.P. everything is adulterate.
Anyways, keep flourishing.

It is incredible how a campaign of global disrespect is organized against one of the richest presidents that has occupied the position of the White House in fact, I thought that the Bush had been controversial Bush Sr. with the process "against" and the son with the war campaign the "axis of evil" but Trump started with several controversies now seems to be the bad guy of the movie exactly as you say dear friend, not everything is bad in the president trump. One of the cases that I have been following is the impact it has had on the judiciary. With good fortune and political will, the stars have aligned themselves so that the conservatives put their mark on the judiciary. Trump certainly is not the best president who has had the United States but not the worst, perhaps, the most controversial. But his role was always that of command and iron will perhaps the American people will realize that it is not always good to take an entrepreneur to political power ... I love your article my respects.

Well said.
