Prague about to become one of the "smartest" cities in Europe
Hi everyone,
Fans of modern technologies and smart devices will be surely happy to hear that Prague, the capital city of my beautiful homeland the Czech Republic, will soon be ranked among the "smartest" cities in all Europe.

As you have probably noticed by now, however, we are not talking about the smartness of Prague´s residents but about the use of new "smart" technologies applied in public spaces all over the city.
There is even a whole project called "Smart Prague" that focuses on implementation of various modern technologies with the intention of making the life in city more comfortable while being eco-friendly and sustainable. Supported by some of Prague´s most renowned universities and scientific institutions, the project includes numerous new technologies and revolutionary devices such as the smart bins, smart street lights, smart benches etc.

Smart bins are powered by solar energy and they are equipped with automatic internal compression systems that allow the bins to hold up to four times more waste than regular bins. Smart street lamps have motion sensors that switch them on only when someone is passing by, thus greatly reducing power consumption. Smart benches come with built-in power sockets, wi-fi and various sensors that measure air temperature, humidity, pollution etc.

Just wow.I am really amazed with the smart bin.I had never seen something like that it is so advance technology.I never knew any thing like even exist.It has really great features and it would be really helpful to people and it is eco friendly.I am really amazed.With that technology there is no doubt that Prague is being the smartest city in Europe.By these thing i more and more interested about Czech Republic.thanks for sharing it with us.@czechglobalhosts
Wow these innovations and technology sounds sooo fascinating, these ideas which you just described like the smart bench smart bin and street lamp are way above their time and must be very costly but being smart doesn’t comes cheap in this case. But it’s a long term solution for a good first investment. My favorite was smart bench so that people can go and sit anywhere on the bench drink a coffe or wait for someone while using the wifi and charging their electronics, this idea is every phone or laptop users wet dream lol. Prague is becoming soo amazing than it already was now i wanna move to prague haha not just for few days as a tourist but as a permanent resident. It’s a fascinating beautiful growing city and i love it. Thanks for sharing
To be honest I was pretty amazed myself that we have gone this far.....
Very smart is also, that Prague support UBER very well! We have been in Prague 4 days with 9 guys, and it was no problem to get together 2-4 Uber’s that drives us everytime just in minute from here to there. With just a smartphone click or two.
Would wish that my city would support this system.
Oh, yeah, very use to use Uber even though it does bring a lot of controversies and hate from traditional taxi drivers. I used Uber for the first time in Singapore last month and it was a fabulous experience.
It looks great projects.. I think using solar energy is the smartest thing.. Improving a city from each aspects is a good contribution to city's popularity..
Smartness is amazing! The more smart products will be launched and used by people it will make their life easier! Congrats on being one of the smartest countries! I am sure many people will benefit from it.

The czech local goverment seems to be open minded.
