Poker Today: Issue 5

A community-centric content series, Poker Today highlights upcoming events, news, and personalities within the Steem Poker community.

Poker Today was created to streamline current Steem Poker operations, increase awareness of Steem Poker on this platform and others, and raise support for ongoing community activities.

Run by @chiefmappster and @nicnas , the post payouts of Poker Today go to achieving these three main goals. [DREAM: FRP]

Today marks the fifth issue of Poker Today.

@tuck-fheman already has started an epic interview series that we might have to integrate with @guy-fawkes420 series because it is absolutely incredible.

He really does a great job. I was blown away after reading his first interview.

Three (3) awesome Steem Poker community events took place this past week.

The fourth Steemit Poker Pro League Tourney was the first event played this past week by the Steem Poker community. Twenty-nine (29) Steemians battled out a grueling Pro League competition.

@spirits4you got his second win of the season taking down @tbnfl4sun heads-up winning 20 SBD for his efforts.

The next poker event taken place last week was the 50 SBD Steem Poker League Tourney. The @spl is the premiere Steem Poker league that was founded by @tuck-fheman and @bigpchef and has paid out over 1850 SBD out to date to Steemians apart of the Steem Poker community.

They took this responsibility of starting and building a premiere Steem Poker league on themselves using their own time and resources to provide a place for Steemians to interact, build relationships, and play poker.

Forty-seven (47) Steemians took part in this epic poker tourney hosted by the @spl . @zizelevak steamrolled through the tournament with brash and bullying play beating @livenowandwow for the victory and 20 SBD.

The last event this past week played by the Steem Poker community was the Weekly Thursday Steem Poker Tourney hosted by @chiefmappster . This week's prize pool was supported in part from @nicnas as well. Thanks again @nicnas.

Thirty-eight (38) Steemians took part in the fourth Weekly Thursday Steem Poker Tourney hosted on the epic lucksacks.net the home of the @spl and Steemit's premiere poker portal.

There was a lot of action down the money with @bloomberg and @quantumpoker going all-in and finishing 6th and 7th place respectively. @elacec ultimately ended up taking down the top prize by combining excellent play and timely calls to beat out @tylersr for first place and win 15 SBD.

Streamlining the @spl 's operations is always the goal and with the added poker tool created by web developer ninja, @internetguy , operations and running at a new level.

@internetguy developed an epic tool, www.pokertool.com , that literally can give a comprehensive, visually-appealing recap of every tournament and live game played by the Steem Poker community. This helps the leaders of the @spl create the posts debriefing this information in a more effective and efficient manner. It also allows for another avenue to highlight key matches such as #1 rated Lucksacks player versus the #2 rated Lucksacks player.

Pokertool.com also keeps current rankings of @spl Top Earners and the Lucksacks Top 200 Standings. It gives the Steem Poker community another way to keep up to date with how they and their favorite Steemians are doing.

Thanks to the Turkish Sensation, @steeminator3000, the @spl has had a majority of the Steem Poker community tournaments live-streamed via Twitch.

@steeminator3000 is a true leader as he took full responsibility on setting up the @spl Twitch account, making sure the equipment was effective & efficient, and he took the time out to broadcast these epic Steem poker experiences for all to witness.

Another way the Steem Poker community is spreading awareness of the @spl on this platform and others is thru the design and release of a variety of Steem Poker community inspired merchandise.

It is also proven by wearing @spl gear your "luckjuice" goes up by a factor of 5. I would say it is a wise investment to say the least. Sales of @spl also goes directly to providing more daily freerolls and tournaments to the community.

Sunday, July 23rd at 12PM CDT / 5PM UTC is the Steemit Pro Poker League hosted on Pokerstars. The Pro League is currently filled up with fifty (50) players so if you would like to join let someone in the Poker Discord channel know.
