Asian-Americans should be the friends, not the enemies, of affirmative action, says CNN's Jeff Yang

Should Asian-American students and professionals support affirmative action? Uh...no. As my (non-existing) black friends would say, "Awww, heeeell nooo!" or something to that effect.

First, why would any racial group support agendas that stymie their own efforts at social progress? I find it inwardly racist that columnist Jeff Yang would presume Asians lack backbone and would therefore suck the teat of Democrats without getting anything substantive in return.

Second, blacks and Hispanics (like any other racial or ethnic group) are responsible for their own actions. Unfortunately, many black and Hispanic youth embrace the ghetto or machismo culture. Fine. But while you're busy popping caps in some fool's ass, don't expect a seat at Harvard that a hard-working Asian earned through meritocracy, not "racial guilt."

Third, will blacks embrace a shorter basketball hoop in the NBA? How about weight limitations in the NFL? Will black Olympians put ballast in their shoes? Of course not!

Well then...don't expect Asian Americans to sacrifice their education and careers on the altar of political correctness! And frankly, it's time that America stops punishing their Asians, and start learning from them.

Asian Americans are one of the few net-positive immigrants in the U.S. Rather than creating drug and gang-infested ghettos and barrios, Asians start businesses and productive communities. They vastly over-represent in academia and multiple professional industries, and grossly under-represent in criminality.

Blacks and Hispanics must decide for themselves the future of their people. But don't blame Asians or "white racism" for their lack of progress.

Anyone that supports AA can quickly be identified as a Marxist SJW/Racist. I wouldn't bother to legitimately debate them either, because they aren't arguing logic. They just have feelings and an ideology that feels right, rationality be damned.

I totally agree with you, no we should not. I got in an argument with a rideshare rider. She wanted me to prove to her and reaffirm that I grew up in the city. A young girl believed I was lying about where I was from and where I went to high school. It started when I told about kids who where shot and killed because of all the "gang" violence. She would say stuff like "Shut up", "You lying", " I don't believe you". I would just respond and awnser her questions. She wanted to prove to me that where she grew up was more ghetto...... As if it was a badge of honor and that I was lying about possessing it. No I was not bragging about it lady, geez I thought. lol. Not the first time, I found myself in a situation prove how hood I was or something. Which I'm not. Just love my home. Asian Americans where cool with everyone in my high school, we let people copy our work and threw the best house parties. You are also right about Asian Americans are net profit for our country. I'm 29 now and find myself in conversation with people about different ethical issues and find myself responding to them much differently. People are brainwashed, I was brainwashed. Must clear the mind. Screw CNN. Thanks for the read.

He is just trying to get publicity, and him being Asian too makes it somehow more appealing, he thinks

He's selling out his own kind ... I respect his right to free speech, but I have no respect for such behaviors!

WTF America!!!! Is it a free country or what? democrat only?? Asians free to do whatever they want and whoever they support!!! Otherwise, there is no difference between you Democrats and Nazis!!!!!

Nazi = National Socialism
USSR = Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Democrats = Socialists

No difference!

Asians kept a strong cultural heritage and close knit families when they came to America. Blacks and Latinos experienced urban decay, especially in the 1970s when factories closed, many were not able to cope, and many followed a degenerate culture of pimping and gang banging. Their families broke apart, the crack epidemic happened, the murder rate sky rotted, and in the 90s MTV made gangster rap cool. So it continues.

Your comment perfectly sums up the "cultural enrichment" of the good ol' US of A. I have nothing more to add! :)
