North Korean Strategy

in #news6 years ago

In 2017, North Korea had over 18 missile tests and cyber attacks on over 150 countries. Korea's threats of war aren't new, but this time they were advertised by Trump on Twitter.

Not long before tensions would boil over, Kim decided it was time to join the Olympics with South Korea under a unified flag. To many, this was a surprise to go from a craving for destruction to a man of peace. Missile testing then soon stopped, he would meet with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, President Moon, and President Xi Jinping within a short period. Now looking to talks with President Trump after ending the war in North and South Korea and being the first North Korean ruler to step foot on the South Korean soil.

Although President Trump would like to take all the glory and the Nobel Peace Prize for this accomplishment, this isn't the first time North Korea has turned on the charm and promised peace and denuclearization. Is this all part of a bigger plan? Kim Jong Un inherited an extremely poor country that would surely die off if he does nothing as his country needs money and wealth. What Kim needs is foreign aid in order to avoid economic reform and revolution so he can stay in power without worry. By going through these nuclear tests they've proven to the world that they can reach the USA with a nuclear missile if they need to and have now stopped nuclear testing, because why test what you now know you can do at any time? Nuclear weapons are the perfect negotiating tool when you can wipe out mass amounts of life with a single order. The pattern noticed by North Korean expert Andrei Lankov is when the North is starting to crumble they begin to create a crisis that could endanger the world, or at least a small country. When things reach a boiling point they agree to negotiations in order to stop threats of war and such, and through negotiations, they get as much as they can out of the deal. Rinse and repeat.

North Korea promised denuclearization back in 2005 and broke that promise after getting what they wanted. Why not break it again in a few months or years after talks happen? And the rumored EMP they have that passes over the US. Whatever happens, the peace act played by Kim won't last, it's just another front to get what he wants and stay in power. Have a very nice day!

We'll see what he gets from these talks.

Great Read! Check out my post as well.

Wonder what is going to happen now O_O

Clear pattern but its worked for him

I don't trust anyone in this scenario... neither Kim nor America can be trusted

Nothing is as though it seems...

Many distrust North Korea's leader, and many think this is the result of Trump scaring him down. I think those are both part of it, but there's definitely more to this saga than we're seeing.
