Durante el último mes, el territorio nacional se ha visto afectado por continuas ondas tropicales cuyas lluvias han causado estragos y afectaciones en diferentes estados del país. Inundaciones, personas fallecidas y pérdidas materiales han sido algunas de las consecuencias que vivieron buena parte de los estados de Venezuela desde finales de septiembre e inicios del mes de octubre. La onda tropical número 39 fue la primera que afectó el territorio nacional causando caos y daños, principalmente en la ciudad de Caracas. Sus efectos comenzaron a sentirse aproximadamente el 28 de septiembre, cuando tras las fuertes precipitaciones registradas durante esa jornada las autoridades se vieron obligadas a restringir el paso de vehículos en el distribuidor Altamira (Chacao) en Caracas debido a que este quedó completamente inundado.
