My Second (serious) day on Steemit
Happy Monday Everyone!
I'm so obsessed, I woke up and even before getting a coffee I opened steemit. And it's Monday!
Well yesterday was my first serious day on steemit. I had signed up a few weeks ago without having a clue what steemit was all about. I saw that it was getting some nice SEO ranking in the search engines and decided to use it to promote another site which turns out to be very similar to steemit.
This other site also exchanges crypto for sharing although the crypto part is new and they have a crazy incentive plans to bring in more members before it hits the blockchain. This is how I ended up with the name @empowrcoins. Now that I'm here I'm kinda regretting that decision.
I see there is so much more value in this site than I had originally anticipated. Social media sites monetizing with crypto just seem to make sense. I actually think it's the future and sites like steemit and empowr could overtake those other social media sites out there that seem to think they are invincible and don't need to return value to their content contributors.
I made my first friend here.
A cool bloke with a fancy english accent who also plays the sax.
He posted some nice comments on my introduction page and we got to chatting. He was kind to spend some time with me and offer me some very helpful tips and good advice.
One was to stop going post crazy trying to get earnings and instead start to focus on building relationships.
The rest will come naturally and organically in due time.
Yesterday posted 5 blogs. I then spent the rest of the day watching my earnings on those posts go up one cent at a time, even though I earned very little by the end of the day I still got excited over each and every upvote and cent that came in. It's just so awesome how this all works.
Today I plan to do things a little bit differently. Today I will spend some time getting to know others who share common interests, perusing what they have to share and showing my appreciation through thoughtful commenting.
I also learned about how just going vote happy is not necessarily the best idea. The votes that add monetary value are limited so it is best to distribute them with care. This fact made me feel a little more thankful for the votes I myself received knowing they were given to me with the same discernment.
Thanks @clivemartin for sharing your awesome getting started guide. I recommend it to anyone new to steemit.

Following the advice in Clive's video tuturial, I spent last night reading the entire Welcome Guide and clicking links and learning and trying to retain as much as I could. I know a lot more today than I did yesterday and I realize there is a lot more to know.
I then fell asleep listening to videos about steemit on YouTube. There were people there that were bragging about making $500 or over a 1K on their very first post. I actually found this discouraging. It made me feel like I was seriously failing. Then I listened to others that just said persistence is key and eventually my reputation will build up and people will take an interest in what I have to say.
I don't what tomorrow will bring or what I will end up writing about on a day to day basis but I have figured out that I must be original. I hope just writing off the top of my head about what is on my mind is okay to get me started. Have a great day everyone and remember...
