Unless something happened that was unnoticeable to the world as a whole.
To be honest, I didn't except some world wide event. All the "End of the world" stuff was just from the media. Most people see it as a sign of things to come, like the 7 years of tribulation. A way point, if you will.
I don't expect Armageddon to happen like a thief in the night, I expect it to be a slow build up that is noticed by everyone.
Just like the end-of-the-world stuff, people have been pointing their fingers at the 7 years of tribulation for centuries. Yet Megiddo remains a place of very little significance...
Yes, it does seem like an odd spot for a great battle.
