The fusion of IOTA and Volkswagen?
The CDO of german automobile giant VW merges with IOTA . This was announced by David Sønstebø and Johann Jungwirth via Twitter.
David Sønstebø: We can confirm that Johann Jungwirth, the Chief Digital Officer of Volkswagen AG is joining the IOTA Foundation. He will serve both as advisor, but also on the supervisory board where his experience and expertise will assist us in growing the IOTA foundation into its full potential. More details to come about this relationship and other plans we have wih VW to come shortly.

But that was already foreseeable when IOTA founder Dominik Schiener and Johann Jungwirth appeared together on german television last December.
Here is a brief introduction of the Chief Digital Officer Johann Jungwirth.
Johann Jungwirth (born May 3, 1973 in Reußmarkt, Transylvania) is a German engineer and manager. He has been Chief Digital Officer of the Volkswagen Group since 2015.
Jungwirth studied electrical engineering at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University (then Berufsakademie) in Stuttgart from 1994 to 1997 with Dipl.-Ing. (BA) degree and later participated in the International Motor Vehicle Program of the Wharton School of Business and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as well as a program of the IMD Business School in Lausanne.
Since 1994, he has been employed at Mercedes-Benz and Daimler, where from 2009 he was president and CEO of research and development for North America (Mercedes Benz Research and Development North America) and managed the development center in Sunnyvale. In addition he headed the connected car, telematics and user interaction division of the company as Vice President of research, technology and product development. He was a leading role in the project of the connected car at Mercedes Benz. In 2014, he officially became director of development of the Mac computer (director of Mac Systems Engineering) and the special projects group at Apple, which was likely to fall primarily to Apple's automobile projects. His transfer from Mercedes to Apple has been seen as a clear indication that Apple is working on a secret project of an autonomously controlled electric car (iCar, Titan). After only one year, he was wooed by VW. At VW, he lead the digitization strategy and the digital transformation, for which a new department was founded in November 2015. He reports as Chief Digital Officer - a new management position created at VW - directly to the CEO Matthias Müller.
His appointment took place at the height of the VW exhaust scandal. Jungwirth is responsible at VW for a central future strategy of the group for digitization, which includes the development of self-driving vehicles. The VW Group has in the opinion of Matthias Müller a lot of catching up to do in the field of digital networked car, not only in self-driving car, but also in collecting automotive-related big data to develop and provide new Services. Among other things, Jungwirth introduces itself to mobility-on-demand, robotaxis and personal customer IDs and profiles at the Group or the brands on the basis of a digital ecosystem or a digital platform. He brings a new mood from his old workplace in Silicon Valley, avoid suits and can be addressed by his nickname JJ.
He is married and has three children.

Ein höchst ineressanter Beitrag und ein mutiger Zug von VW.
Doch mir graust es vor einer Zukunft in der montagsmorgens das Auto nicht startet, weil es sauer ist, dass ich es am Samstag nicht gewaschen habe, weil der Toaster vorher dringend eine Umarmung brauchte, während die Waschmaschine über Depressionen klagt und den Toaster nicht bezahlen konnte ... Ok, hat mehr etwas mit KI zu tun, aber das ging mir nach dem Durchlesen und Anhören des vids durch den Kopf
Ich denke ein Thema, dass uns in Zunkunft noch viel Kopfzerbrechen bereiten wird. Jedenfalls gehe ich nicht davon aus, dass die KI soweit programmiert wird, dass eine Art "Gefühlsramen" gebaut wird. Eher glaube ich, dass die inteligente Vernetzung nur zur erleichterung der Aufgabe der jeweiligen Geräte führen wird.
Es muss ja kein "Gefühlsprogramm" installiert sein, es reicht aus, wenn die vernetzten Maschinen genug über unser Verhalten gelernt haben und dann nur noch 1 und 1 zusammen zählen brauchen um ihre Programmierung zu erweitern.
Ich würd mir wünschen das alles für uns leichter wird und vllt knacken die Quantencomputer in ein paar Dekaden die Möglichkeit die Lichtgeschwindigkeit zu erreichen/überwinden.
Ich klopf auf jeden Fall derbe aufs Holz ... egal wie die Sache ausgeht.
Chancen ergeben sich leider genauso wie Risiken, da hast du wohl recht :/

Your title is misleading... Only johann jungwirth will act as an advisor in iota foundation. VW itself isn't joining or merging with Iota... though its good news, because he sure got some good connections to/in VW. But again, Volkswagen AG is not joining IOTA (atleast now)
