Ronnie Coleman: The King - Netflix - Review
Ronnie Coleman: The King focuses on life after bodybuilding. Ronnie Coleman was an 8 time Mr. Olympia (tied for the record). Ronnie Coleman was considered a freak of nature who lifted amazing amounts of weights. There is one scene of him squatting 800 pounds for two reps.
Ronnie Coleman faded quickly once this career was over as his back was destroyed from all the heavy lifting. He is on crutches for most of the film, and the film leads up to another surgery he is preparing for.
The documentary is worth watching and shows the drive of the man who became one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. It shows what he sacrificed and how he copes with his condition.
I recommend that you watch this.
As an aside the surgery did not go well and Ronnie Coleman said in a bedside interview that he may never walk again. He accused the surgeon for being incompetent and that he was just in it for the money. Ronnie said that the surgeries cost over $2 million.
