well, actually it is safe and running. not 'intact', but... depends on its master, I think, and this is the part of the story I am missing, cause there was nobody around I could ask... I imagine people get older (and the ships, as well... its definitely was not built in the recent years...) and... they dont have energy, time, sources to go to the open sea anymore.
